Peter Drury replaces Martin Tyler on Sky Sports

Do his employers actually listen to him?
He's employed as a commentator and is supposed to be informing us which player has the ball, but all he's doing is rambling on about anything but

I turned the sound off..... again
My mother is 84 and nearly blind. She has mentioned to me a few times how she has no idea what is actually happening during the game when he is commentating

Hugh Johns was quality although only usually employed for Midlands teams. He always praised City.

Just watched that. So refreshing to hear a calm voice describing the play without the need to quote a billion stats at the audience.

I have to say that I hadn’t heard of him, as he was before my time, but he’s clear, concise and energised perfectly to match what is going on in the game.

Its also great not to hear some ex pro with the IQ of a kumquat saying “Totally Johnsy”.

I think he needs to retire or be retired.
Absolutely.
The plot-loss is in evidence repeatedly.
“We need mud” was one of his on-air lines tonight, met with many seconds of silence/bafflement from Neville, who clearly had no idea how to respond.
His comment about Ferna being brought on to commit fouls in midfield was also beyond the pale. As was his constant first half references to the cost of our players.
City, report him, complain to his employers.
(They own shares in our club too don’t they?!)

Disgraceful comment from Tyler when Fernandinho came on, embarrassed himself
When he said "this will be the only time Foden and Kalvin Phillips will be on the same pitch this coming week" it just summed up the horrible bitter prick perfectly. Old, past it, and says things he shouldn't out of spite. No need for it. He needs to retire.
