Peter Drury replaces Martin Tyler on Sky Sports

'Bobby' if you don't mind.
This - absolutely.

I struggle to remember another player in Premier League history who he has a nickname for the in the way he refers to him as "Bobby Dazzler".

His ridiculous "AND IT'S LIIIVE!" line before every match is so odd. If it was a sky thing, surely all their commentators would be required to say it but they don't. He's just decided that it sounds good and squeezes it in no matter what.

It's like he's preparing his retirement documentary that they'll inevitably do, during his actual commentary.

I noticed him some years ago commentating like he was giving the marketing team bits to put into adverts when United and Arsenal played. "HENRYYY!", "ROOOONEY!", "REYESSSS!", "RONALDOOOOO!".

Stop planning to be remembered fondly and just commentate on what's happening. You'll naturally be a better commentator.

Barry Davies' commentary was so good because it was so unplanned and I still believe he's the best I've heard.

I actually mute every game 5 minutes before kick off until i see the game actually start as his self enforced catch phrase AND ITS LIIIIVVEE boils my piss way more than it should do.

Also straight after the final whistle yesterday he mentioned Foden and said he was 'from just OUTSIDE Manchester' - pathetic

Yes and he also always says United are from Trafford and that is outside Manchester.

Not.

I think it's too late for him. He's been able to get away with his biased approach for so long he probably doesn't even know he's doing it.

I genuinely do believe the man's mental well-being is not what it was, he screams in adulation at anything rag-related and seems to feel it is his duty to bring them into any and all subjects.
His sycophancy and obsequious mannerisms when it comes to the rags is so clear both he and Sky should be ashamed of themselves, and as a professional commentator with many years experience he personally should have a bit of pride in what he does, a bit of self respect: give a balanced and fair view of the proceedings, not behave like a besotted, dewy-eyed teenager when his raggy heroes march onto the pitch.
