forget which country they are in..... the real issue is should the Premier league let a team who have a similar financial track record to Portsmouth into the league. They are run by Peter Risdale (says it all really) and had 2 winding up orders over the last 6 months... they conned the fans into stumping up season ticket money for next season on the promise that they would buy new players in the January window.... they spent that money on paying off the tax man..... I reckon they will have 9 points deducted by next Christmas...... so I say COME ON BLACKPOOL.

Ridsdale is leaving and Malaysian investors taking over

Yep they're ok, apparently a convicted rapist is a fit and proper person to be a director of a PL club.

Rather than being Welsh I'd be far more concerned about the fact that Cardiff City are a financial timebomb.

As previously posted in this thread, they have new investors and Risdale is resigning as of 31st May,.
Whether the investors are trustworthy is yet to be seen but we've been there ourselves, fortunately for us it didn't turn out like it did for pompey.

Don't know mate, although I can't see why not.

Sure that when they were in the Cup Final UEFA declared they would not qualify for Europe

I remember a game about 1992ish when Cardiff were due to play Stockport away. That game, for whatever reason, was postponed but the Cardiff fans were already in the area. We let them into our game, anyone remember that? They went into the away end. Not sure who we were playing but I remember being stood in the Kippax and all the older blokes were having good banter with the Welsh.

Thought they were due to play Huddersfield? We were playing Southampton

Ah was it Huddersfield? I just guessed at Stockport because the grounds weren't that too far away. It was mad that though, me and are kid were like, 'what the fuck are they doing here'?!

Cardiff tried to switch to the FA instead of the FAW and were declined, not their fault.

/ thread.

I read and acknowledge the info in previous posts, but after what's kicked off at Pompey this season I hope the PL are seriously scrutinising the viability of these investors. New investors are always a potential risk (Glazer, Shinawatra, Ashley, Al-Fahim, Hicks and Gillett).

Totally agree, let's hope (FAt chance) that the powers that be don't drop the ball on this one.

Having said that, it's all down to Risdale and the CCFC people, as to whether the new investors are good or bad as the authorities have consistently distanced themselves from any direct involvement other than the rather toothless "fit and proper persons" test.

All that money from being promoted via the playoffs will help them a bit.

It would certainly make then a more attractive proposition, but the deals already in place so one has to assume they've done their sums already.

If you get this petition going, any chance of nipping to Carrington and asking Bellers to sign..? Take a mate with a camcorder.!

Spot on the league is called The FA Premier League no mention of the word English...It's only called the EPL abroad for TV

The FA Premier League not the FA and FAW Premier League

It's not either of them. The FA doesn't run the Premier League or the Football League.

As previously mentioned, why weren't you bothered when Cardiff, Swansea and Wrexham (and Newport, and Merthyr, and Colwyn Bay) were in the Football League/non-league? And there are historical reasons for them being here, such as there not being a Welsh league until 1992.

I'd rather Blackpool went up because they're a Lancashire team, but this thread is ridiculous.

I'm not a racist at all. Just feel that the English have their own Premier League as do Scotland and Wales, so why are Cardiff allowed in the English Premier League.
No worries Blackpool to win.

Really? Pisses on my chips then! There was definitely some reason Cardiff weren't gonna be allowed in via FA Cup!
