PETITION RE NEWBIE WUMs

I'm more of a browser than a poster hence my low post count, although I joined in 2006 I think.

However, if I need to, can I increase my count by posting one word posts like:

LOL
RAG
WUM
THIS^
:-p

and various other one word posts, smilies, acronyms etc

If a minumum post count was introduced (100 say) what would be the calibre of posts be like and the contribution that those posts would be to the topic if people are trying to reach a milestone?
I imagine there are posters who do little more than that, not a problem, those posts get passed by and ignored. The point of URG's idea is the retards who think its hilarious to register and post WUM threads probably don't have the attention span to reach 50 posts before they get distracted by CBeebies.

I browsed for almost a year before joining and rarely post so it would take me a lifetime to get to 100 but I still think it would be a good idea as I only have an hour or so to check the board on a night and Im sick of wading through pointless threads with no purpose.

I think nearly everyone who has posted in this thread has high regard for the work that Ric and the Mod team do for us. If this wasn't such a well run site, we wouldn't be here in such numbers in the first place.

I'd accept that we may not have the experience or first-hand knowledge to correctly prescribe solutions, but I hope that Ric and Co don't get too hung up on what might not work, because, as things are, the forum already isn't working that well for the users, due to the problems highlighted.

Good luck lads and lasses, we know you've got your work cut out this time.

Good idea
but by banning new posters/ WUMS from starting new threads will it just mean they jump in on other threads to put their bullshit?
