Bet you’d have to go back a few years to find no United player in the team of the year.
Saliba only played half the season?

MOTM, PFA POTY, SPOTY, etc. are all subjective awards.

Rather like a knighthood or an OBE or getting appointed to the House of Lords, they mean fuck all.

Winning the treble is a big deal. Winning a popularity contest not so much.
What if you’ve broke every goal scoring record in the premier leagues history whilst winning the treble.
Is that a big deal? It certainly isn’t subjective..

VIKING SMASH wins PFA Player of the Year!

Still robbed of YPOTY, mind.

Now just the small matter of the Ballon d’Or… ;-)

Congrats to big Earl and the others making into toty. Thoroughly deserved, kind of an insult that theres as many as 4 arsenal players who won literally nothing last season compared to the 5 treble winning history makers though.

Either you change it so that no player is eligible for both awards or you make the young player a given if you win thr main award. It does nothing but delegitimise the award if the winner of the main award who is also eligible for the young player doesn't win both. It's utterly nonsensical.

Almost as nonsensical as Aaron fucking ramsdale getting into the team of the year somehow. The same guy that was quite heavily blamed for arsenals biggest bottlejob ever. The same ramsdale who arteta thought did such a great job last season he's brought in a replacement he's going to shell out £30 million for next summer. Genuinely mental decision. The other 10 are pretty much standard choices.
