Congrats to Leroy and Raheem too. Third is no disgrace and I think the perception is Sterling has been around a long time and the young player award normally goes to someone who is relatively new on the block. Maybe some of the high profile misses hurt him too - the media made a meal of them and I guess that can stick in players minds.

Anyway Raheem has two medals this season including a Premier League winners medal which Gerrard, Carragher, McMannaman, Hoddle etc. would have given their left bollock for!
