It is allowed. Showpony won both three years ago (2006/07).

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney leads the nominations for the Professional Footballers' Association Player of the Year award.

How can someone LEAD nominations? What they mean is 'we want Rooney to win'.

Not saying I don't agree that he should btw, it's just annoying how the press decide who they want to win.
