The outraged former editor of the Daily Mail, Paul Dacre, states - this is disgusting that a young working class man from Stockport can be paid almost £1.6m a year for kicking a ball around - I had many years of sucking up to owners and had to learn to hold unsavoury views before I was able to earn that level of cash.
Neither Viscount Rothermere the papers owner nor his illegitimate son were available for comment.
