Philippe Sandler

What surgery did he have? Looks to have bags of potential on the clips plus he looks rapid which is perfect for Peps high line.

Not easy to judge pace from a Youtube clip, true, but I imagine City know his times for sprints of various types. More importantly, although he's clearly right-footed, he was completely natural receiving the ball on his left. He also passed well with his left and didn't try to work the ball back to his right if the pass or the run was to his left. Could make a very well balanced, versatile footballer. Assuming he's got no major weaknesses that weren't shown, I'd say he could play anywhere across a back 3 or 4 and maybe higher up. Looks like a steal to me, recovery from injury permitting.

strange balance this summer of fringe players / loan players and actual first team players. We didn't need to strengthen a lot but if you want to stay at the top two first team players every summer is a must.

Not cities fault, the whole market with agents is a joke hence most PL clubs have failed in this transfer window, glad to see clubs have said fuck off we aren't paying that !

Will sandler be seen this season and looking at breaking in the the team ? Not sure, lets see

His weaknesses at the moment his he can get a bit too casual on the ball and also sometimes just boot it up the field to absolutely know one. That can be corrected over time but that’s what I’ve seen. He had a real hard time dealing with PSV last season.

I think lots of talented players can be casual at times. The players around him might help to eradicate any carelessness. He looked a two-footed, head-up type, so he should at least have a chance of first team action at City.

Won’t read too much into it, but In the video posted today from the dressing room (Silva with his boy), you can see Sandler has been given one of the dressing room spaces alongside Zinchenko and Foden. Might be that he’s staying for the season.
