Phone Thread

Phone threads on here never end well!

Ive just got a Samsung Galaxy S7. First time with a Samsung for a while after having HTC for the past three phones.

The Galaxy S7 is a fantastic phone. Phone technology is definitely slowing down though, I think the next big improvement needs to be batteries that last for days rather than minor and relatively insignificant new features.

After having an S5 last time round, this contract I took a gamble and went for Huawei P9.

Glad I did, had it 5 months now and its amazing, notifies you of background apps you thought you had closed and what power they are using so the already good battery life is even better!
Its looks the bollocks, Its rapid AND I get unlimited everything for £30 a month AND cos I pre-ordered it they gave me one of those smart watches for wankers which i sold on ebay for £240.

Cant recommend it enough

Motorola something or other. 3rd generation moto g I think. I use it to text people and ring them. Occasionally. I also use it for bbc sport and tapatalk for this forum. To be honest I find phones intrusive so it's on silent most of the time and in my pocket. When I get in it goes in my PC room where I forget about it until I need it the next day. Drives my missus mad. "I ran you", she often says, "did you? Sorry it's upstairs."

It does have a memory card in it full of music though and gets used when I'm out on the bike.

First phone?

Nokia 101. I think in around 1993. It was my first company phone and I think it was analogue rather than digital.

Can't remember much about it though.

What was your last HTC phone?
Was it any good and is it still in good condition?

(this is a precursor to asking if you want to sell it!)

I have got an old Samsung, years old,i think it might blow up if i tried to connect to the interweb thingy,i can phone and text so it does me ok

Anyone thinking of getting a Galaxy note 7. Just a note to let you know they currently have to be completely switched off on flights. Don't know the details yet but it's just come in in the last few days. Must be a problem with the flight mode.

Edit: Just found out they are a fire hazard.

A while ago, I bought myself an Honor 7 (made by Hauwei) for £200, direct from Hauwei. Smashing phone. the UI is basic (but can be overcome by downloading a launcher). IMO it's better than both the Samsung 6 and the IPhone 6.

Spec includes:
  • 5.2" screen
  • 424 ppi pixel density
  • Finger print scanner (that works smoothly)
  • Operates on Marshmallow
  • 3GB ram
  • Dual sim
  • Memory card slot
  • 20MP camera with dual LED flash
Solid build, quick and smooth.

Haha. The M8s. Good phone but fancied an upgrade as I like new toys. It's since gone on eBay, sorry. If you want a HTC then I'd recommend the HTC 10. Can't get it on O2 contract otherwise I would have got one.
