That's fair enough. I'm slightly confused though. If it is refrigeration then presumably a fridge is a refrigerator and I assume it all comes from the word frigid. So why is it a fridge and not a frige?

I have a mate who is a clinical diagnostic paediatrician,and he hates it when we are out and girls ask what he does for a living.
He usually tells them he is a paedophile to avoid complicated explanations.

I think you can claim Nonce Seekers Allowance nowadays if you are on the phile and fall on hard times.
You also receive a series of vouchers that can be exchanged at local shops for Haribo,alcopops and other grooming products.

Fridge is a shortening of the brand name Frigidaire but fuck knows where the d has come from. HTH.

Done that. Its I did that.

Depends if you refer to explicit points in the past or not. Example:

Mate A (on seeing a rather attractive girl in a club) "I would like to fornicate with her"

Didactic "I have done her before"

Mate A "Like fuck you have, she's waaaay outta your league you dreamer"

Mate B "She's a slag mate, you need to get yourself tested for bad cat aids or something"

Didactic "I did that on Friday"

Note the use of "did" when referring to the test you took on Friday versus the use of "done" when you were unsure of the specific date the potential contraction of bad cat aids took place.

Classy :). But I was referring more to how people like Shearer use it even when speaking.

Example

"What a fine save from Hart the way he done that was excellent."

Just had this emailed me to me a perfect example.

"Router configuration this morning who ever done the reset can they please close this ticket, thank you."
