That would be a really good example had Lizarazu (sp?) not worn the number 69. Or if Rio Ferdinand and Utd been the only clubs with a number 5 in the squad. As for the CR7 link, he is known by CR7, no one refers to Rio as "5" do they? If you see little or no difference between the two then I suggest a visit to the opticians.

-- Wed Sep 04, 2013 5:15 pm --

The Fat el Hombre said:SWP's back said:Where? Unfortunately for us all life isn't quite that simple. If Micah had a number 69 on his cap on the front page of the OS some might also object. Does it need a picture of the sexual position for it to be considered crude and for us to know what it's about? Of course not. Just as it doesn't need MUFC on it for anyone to know that the number 5 on ferdinands clothing range represents his squad number for the past decade or so for man united. That's a close enough connection for me.
It's similar to the symbol CR7. Now, some people might say '2 letters and a number, whats the problem bluemooners will whinge about anything blah blah', but I wouldn't expect to see a City player on the OS with CR7 clobber on, for (seemingly, to me) obvious reasons. I see little or no difference between this and ferdinands clobber with his squad number on it and I don't think it should be on the MCFC OS
Am I angry about it? No. Do I think Micah is a rag or a rag lover? No. Will my opinion of him change in any way? No. Do I think it should be on the front page of the OS? No
A curious question for those who think it should be on the OS - fashion preferences aside, would you wear a rio ferdinand hat that has rio ferdinands man united squad number to a City game?
A completely different scenario again mate and not even on the same sphere as wearing a cap with a 5 on it.The Flash said:But you would argue that "it was just a taxi"?
Do you think for a moment MUFC would have a picture of one of their players on it's official website who was wearing stuff designed by Lescott?
I suspect 95% of the public have no fucking clue that the cap with a 5 on it has anything to do with Rio.
I am fairly clued up on football and not totally unfashionable and yet I still had no fucking clue, poor old Eccles and the like have no chance.
I would say this thread has done more to publicise Rio's brand than the interview.
