Pic of Richards on the OS

Unfortunately for us all life isn't quite that simple. If Micah had a number 69 on his cap on the front page of the OS some might also object. Does it need a picture of the sexual position for it to be considered crude and for us to know what it's about? Of course not. Just as it doesn't need MUFC on it for anyone to know that the number 5 on ferdinands clothing range represents his squad number for the past decade or so for man united. That's a close enough connection for me.

It's similar to the symbol CR7. Now, some people might say '2 letters and a number, whats the problem bluemooners will whinge about anything blah blah', but I wouldn't expect to see a City player on the OS with CR7 clobber on, for (seemingly, to me) obvious reasons. I see little or no difference between this and ferdinands clobber with his squad number on it and I don't think it should be on the MCFC OS

Am I angry about it? No. Do I think Micah is a rag or a rag lover? No. Will my opinion of him change in any way? No. Do I think it should be on the front page of the OS? No

A curious question for those who think it should be on the OS - fashion preferences aside, would you wear a rio ferdinand hat that has rio ferdinands man united squad number to a City game?
No one is saying it should be on the OS, people are saying a person has a right to wear what he wants, and if that's part of Ferdinand's clothing range because that particular person likes the style of it, who is anyone on here to question him? It's just an item of clothing, nothing more, nothing less.

Except it isn't, for reasons that's I've just explained. There are connotations behind the number 5 in this instance (as I've explained). If it was a random number like 81 then you might have a point, but it isn't so you don't

"No one is saying it should be on the OS". Eh? That's where it is - that's what the thread is about. The thread title "Pic of Richards on OS" is a bit of a giveaway...

Would you wear the cap to a City game (fashion sense aside)?
I know what the thread is about, you turnip. It's about a player wearing a cap that has been designed by a united player as part of his clothing range. That player plays for the club. He doesn't live, sweat and bleed for it, it's merely his job. That player has seen an item of clothing he likes and has bought it, then he has dared to wear his purchase because, well, that's what people do with clothes they've bought.
Would I wear it to the match? Nope, because football fans, as proven in this thread, are as small-minded as it gets and the hassle wouldn't be worth it. If I found a shirt that looked really good on me from his range and fitted me perfect, i'd have no qualms in buying it just like I had no qualms in using a vodafone mobile when they sponsored them - because it suited my needs and I can get past the whole tears and tantrums thing about what it has to do with United, which in the case of this hat is literally fuck all. (And before you yet again question something i've posted, I know exactly what the number 5 relates to). That doesn't mean i'm a Rio fan or a united fan, it means I like the item of clothing in question. It's very simple if you use your brain.

Pige,

Do you remember at Christmas all the United players being pictured in a cab with City livery?

How embarrassing was that?

But you would argue that "it was just a taxi"?

Do you think for a moment MUFC would have a picture of one of their players on it's official website who was wearing stuff designed by Lescott?

Absolutely they would. I really don't think they would give it a second thought. It is a fashion item not football merchandise.

Wouldn't matter - if it suited his needs at the time.
Of course anyone not taking this view is a turnip and brain dead.

So if you were guaranteed not to get any hassle for it, you'd happily wear ferdinands hat with ferdinands man united squad number to a City game?

What we as a football club are trying to achieve and what they as a football club will do to stop us and undermine us only shows IMO that allowing Micah to wear that cap on the OS was totally inappropriate.
It maybe petty to some but it is not for this Blue.

The picture of ferdinand in the Etihad taxi was taken after their champions celebration party and if anyone believes for a moment they jumped in that cab by chance are totally gullible. Our great PR department turned the tables on him and they deserve credit for that.

I reckon this thread has uncovered a few rags.
