Forgot about Rotters. Everyone being kicked out at the same time created some 'unusual' meetings and the occasional opportunity for a bit of rough and tumble.I remember that area you had Tiffany's, the Ritz, Jilly's and Rotters, though not sure if they were all open at exactly the same time. I have drank in all of them except the Ritz.
My wife would agree that you can’t beat shopping to take your mind off the bad things in life !The two getting attacked from all sides should have got themselves into a shop or somewhere as quickly as possible.

Lol. That 2am kicking out time stand off between Jilly's and Rotters seems a long long time ago now. Trying to flag a taxi in the middle of Oxford Road. Remember how empty the streets were when everyone was finally in the clubs? After midnight, town became a Ghost town until 2am. Surreal compared to these days.Forgot about Rotters. Once they saw my mrs in shopping mode they soon be running the other way!Ha ha, she might have had her mind changed if those two ran in pursued by a large mob.
Zero tolerance in the city centre is what's needed. No loitering and no looking funny. One thing is for sure, the authorities don't appear to be that invested in protecting the public any more.

It wouldn't be allowed in Trafalgar Square or where ever in London, would it?It is at present an open prison yard, the people at the top want it like that or it wouldn't be like that. Makes you think how little they think of Manchester and Mancunians really, and considering most of the people who make decisions about Manchester aren't from Manchester it's no wonder.

Isn't Piccadilly Gardens currently closed due to the markets being built?
It was on Thursday when I walked past it
