The pub opposite the away end? Loved the way the West Mids police encouraged away fans to go in that pub and then when you tried to enter the ground tried to stop you if you had drunk too much!!! Was at the '85 game stood in the away end. Odd end as the Cov fans weren't right next to us but above and behind us!

Actually, i've just remembered. I've got a whole roll of film in my drawer, some taken from that exact spot (when it was the Cov end) and many taken of City fans singning in the pub beforehand. They are from the FA Cup game there in 1996 where they scored in the last minute.

Would anyone like them scanning and putting up here, see if you can recognise yourself in the pub?

Yeah, that pub that had a sort of nightclub downstairs for away fans. Always a laugh in there.

Yes. Night game. The one before we played united. Snow all round the pitch and snowballs being pelted around. I was in there end almost exactly where this photo is taken.

I'll have to wait until the Office Manager comes back and get her to scan them for me but I'll hopefully do it in the next hour or so.

Yes. Night game. The one before we played united. Snow all round the pitch and snowballs being pelted around. I was in there end almost exactly where this photo is taken.

I'll have to wait until the Office Manager comes back and get her to scan them for me but I'll hopefully do it in the next hour or so.

I seem to remember being stood in a terrace at the side of the pitch and not behind the goal and Strachan getting bombarded with snowballs every time he took a throw in.

My new uni house in september is just 100 yards from where this used to stand, would've been able to see it at the end of my road. Feels really nice, reminds me of being back at Maine road in a way.

The success and the way football is now is obviously a joy to see for the club, but I can't help but feel more associated with it the way it was back then, and not just City, football in general.

The success and the way football is now is obviously a joy to see for the club, but I can't help but feel more associated with it the way it was back then, and not just City, football in general.

I'm not even old enough to have seen the days of terracing, but I still feel more associated with the way it was. Even growing up watching absolute shit in blue shirts, I felt more associated with it, I pray football goes back to the way it was (to some extent). I've spoken to many Coventry city fans since I've been at uni, my halls were round the corner from the pub there old firm drinks in, and I feel really sorry for them, losing out on their beloved highfield road, and falling down the leagues in a new and unfamiliar stadium. Atleast we were still at our spiritual home when it happened to us. They say moving from highfield road was the worst thing that happened to the club.

Being stood in the Kippax felt special. Sitting down in the Kippax felt fake. I can't put my finger on why that was. The away matches I went to back in the day were all standing, apart from Everton who had shitty wooden seats in a shitty stand which felt about as safe as a creche run by Messrs Saville and Glitter. That was the first time i'd experienced sitting at a match at all, as it was obviously still standing at the Kippax. Fucking hated sitting down and I pity those who don't know anything other than seated stadiums as it really isn't the same.
