Seeing those pictures brought the memories flooding back, we used to have 1 or 2 coach loads from the Sportsmans, Chadderton to every away game - a collection of local lads + Middy Junction, Moston,Failsworth, NH etc. - We were in the covered side paddock that day, when one of our group, who was about 6'-4" tall, descovered he could kick the asbestos roof in by swinging off the steel crash barrier, like an olympian on the bars!! Chunks of the roof came down, (it was rotten to the point where it didnt take much to bring it down), and next there was an asbestos roof bits fight between us and Blackpool in the pen next to us. One of our lads got a piece lodged in his head, and St. Johns ambulance carted him round the pitch for treatment. Not proud of what went on that day, we were all late teens, and the norm was drink loads of beer and behave like animals in surroundings which were fit for, animals...... We didn't go round attacking away fans, but if any came at us, we gave as good as we got. This will all be going in my book about 40 years following City, the good the bad the ugly etc, it was quite scary when you think looking back now as to things that used to go on..............
