would we not be lookng at a younger model if it was purely a squad player purchase?
Although I think he will be a squad player (in the sense that I don't think he will be starting much ahead of kdb,serg and silva or possibly another signing in most games when all are available) I also think he's been bought with the hope that he can possibly muscle into the first team consistently at times when in form. I think in nolito we've just seen a very handy player who was well worth the relatively small fee we paid. Most of the youth players arguably worthy of a place in the squad are out or are going out on loan, seemingly!

In fact , I can't locate the exact words, but it rings eerily like what was said about KDB almost exactly one year ago. I thought this was dead. This "denial" actually makes me feel that it's alive again.

Player openly said he wants to play for Madrid.... if they bid (in future as haven't currently)he will ask to go. Not exactly rocket science is it? .....for us its dead..'. no great loss in my opinion.

Interesting, but still cant see BVB selling yet another key player, especially when they aren't forced to like with Gundogan, Hummels and Mkhitaryan having 1 year left
