pissssssssssss on chips

There is a world of difference between thinking it is possible we might win the league, and thinking we have a good chance of doing so.

I think we have a very very slim chance of doing so - but that doesn't mean I expect it.

IF we land JT and JL, then, player for player we are better than Villa / Spuds / Everton.

A title winning scenario for us is:

Rags loss of Tranaldos goals and play is as devastating as we all hope. Own limps off in third game.
Gerrard gets injured and misses big chunk of season for Red Scouse
Carlo bollockses up Chelsea, who lose Terry
Wenger spends another season getting it wrong at the Arse.
We have no significant injuries to key players all season.

Its a long odds group of things to happen, but within the bounds of possibility. So, yes, we can win the title.

I think we are going to finish 3rd, behind Chelski and Red Scouse. I think the rags are going to have a shite season (by their standards) and finish 4th. The Arse will finish fifth.

To achieve this, I think we need a storming start and to be top at Christmas. I'm certain Red Scouse and Chelski will be stronger than us in the run in when the pressure is on.

We all know how small the margin between 10th and 5th/6th really is and how huge the leap to 4th is. After the quality we have added, setting sixth as a goal is cautious in the extreme. Doubting we could make the big 4 leap is perhaps reasonable, so a middle and sensible prediction would be 5th - but a long way ahead of 6th.

I'm the optimistic type. So, given a feeling that top 4 will be weaker on the whole next season, I'm shooting for 3rd.

The big doubt for me is how the Arse will do. They have the quality - can Wenger get it right. I've decided not.

We really do have to start expecting the team to win. I'm looking forward to Wembley 2011 CL final

my god your cup is more than half full. I just hope your right. I can honestly see us turning it on against the big boys but faltering against the lower sides , but we have always done that. Although i have never been as excited about a forthcoming season, i cannot help but dread the possibility of us becoming a complete laughing stock when we get stuffed off the likes of Burnley. In-bred pessimism i suppose.
We need the experience of being in a title run in before we can even dream of winning a title.
Everybody needs to remember just where we were 10 years ago and be thankful that the future is bright and for once we can leave some of the pessimism behind and actually enjoy going to the game.
top six next year with legitimate europa league qualification will do me this time around cos i think we would actually win that.
Its realistic for blues to expect (or even demand) a top six finish given the position we are in but to even contemplate winning the league next year is delusional.
Everybody bleating on about 'top 4' etc is setting themselves up for a big fall and a lot of piss taking from them lot and the rest of the premier. We should go about our business quietly, see how far we get first.

dont wish to piss on anyone's chips but there is absolutly no chance we will win the league I think well have a really good season but alot of people on her are saying we got a shot, just very worried people are thinking this and well be in for a long season with a lot of moaning if people think this.

I think it will be a hard season unless we get some more defenders as last year away from home we were awful.Tevez will not suddenly make us grind out results!

Napa,on a seperate note do you live out there?

were stronger this year than we have ever been, we are takin players off those above us.
were the ONLY club to start a lot stronger than what we finished last term, rags are shittin it, ffs if they are you can guarentee everyone else is nervous.
we wont win the league, but we wont be a million miles away,a trip out to wembley in may, a great possibility, its gonna be a great season, were on the up...
I FOR ! AM GONNA ENJOY IT, piss as much as you want, ill just buy some more chips

Come on, chaps. It's wishful thinking that we'll win the Prem. But there's nothing wrong with that. Aim for 100% and if you end up with 80%, well, it's better than nothing. Aim for 60% and end up with 40% - why the fuck bother?

I don't think any real City fans seriously expect us to win the league this coming season, but we can at least consolidate our position as a team to be reckoned with. Top 6 is not out of our reach, and a good cup run will go a long way to establishing our credentials as a possible title-winning team.

And if the rags finish with absolutely fuck-all then it will have been a magnificent season.

We know that mate. Only a small majority of poster son here think that we will. :P t 4 and top6 are defnitely realistic anything above 5th for me is fantastic!

CTID!

Winning the league without the big 4 is 11/10 with skybet - thats a good bet for me
Coming fifth isn't good enough. Peter Reid got sacked for only coming fifth.

If we don't come in the top 3 or win a cup, Hughes should get sacked.
