Pizza Hut/Dominos

If it's a great mystery why a pizza shop remains in business despite there been cheaper pizza shops in the vicinity, then is it equally puzzling why there are any pubs still in business other than Wetherspons? Or any restaurants still going that flog main courses for more than a fiver?

I'm no Einstein but could the fact that some people think they are shit, still leave open the possibility that other people might quite like them?

How do these fuckers stay in business? Got a Pizza Hut leaflet through the door and for a medium Supreme (pepperoni, spicy beef, jalapenos, etc) they want £14.49. Fourteen and a half quid! My local kebab/pizza place do the same thing for £5.50. Even if I went for a 12" pizza at the local one, it would still only set me back £7.50.

Do you get a free trip to Italy thrown in at Pizza Hut?

And they're shit

Had Pappa Johns pizza a few weeks ago as a new one just opened down the road. Never again, awful pizza. Dry thick crusty base with complete lack of toppings.

In New York you can buy Pizza by the Slice. $1 usually get's you a slice of Margherita and it's absolutely massive too.

You can buy pizza by the slice pretty much anywhere except most of the UK it seems.

Even Ireland, although it's a fiver a slice in Dublin. My local chippy does a decent sized, nice pizza with two toppings for five euro, dominos etc can all fuck off.

There's over 1,500 branches of Greggs where you can pick up a slice.

Just Human beings aren't we......

I'll say I dislike Pizza now, and acknowledge Dominos is a rip off, know all about how much mark-up they are making and know about the quality of their ingredients.

Yet in 5mths time, I'll be hungry one night, watching a film on the box or watching footy etc and can't be assed cooking anything and not concerned about eating healthy and bam - I'll go straight to their website and place an order for their shitty pizza.

5mths later /
Rinse and repeat.

They stay in business because most English people know fuck all about food, and accept the doughie, salty muck they send out without ever knowing what a pizza should taste like. It's Americanised, cheap mass produced food for teenagers and kids.

They run some business model like these furniture stores where most of what they sell is seen to be discounted when in reality the discounted price is what you should have been paying in the first place.

To be honest, even the best pizzas deteriorate massively when they sit sweating in a box, but the crass shite they serve was greasy, low quality junk in the first place.

I like Pizza Hut.

Tut tut. Educate your palate, man.

Sorry, I should have specified 'half-decent pizza'. If it's made in the same oven as a tray of pasties it's probably not what I'm after.
