PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

This cannot be right. There is no way we can appeal the decision to the high court. We can only appeal to HC in the event of unfairness or fault in the procedure.
I doubt the panel will find us guilty, though I don’t think this panel will be as neutral as C

Seeing as the CAS panel voted 4-3 in our favour we could be in deep trouble. I hope I’m wrong, but I just can’t see anything but a guilty verdict.

Something I keep coming back to with all this was CAS saying that not only would we have conspired to disguise equity as sponsorship funding, but we would have had to fool our own auditors and accounting firms on top of this.

I genuinely can't see what the PL think they have that UEFA didn't. Especially with a much more serious accusation

As others have said, the PL would also need to prove that partner companies and third parties were complicit. Without access to their books as well, that seems impossible to prove? It's not a criminal trial, it's a kangaroo court.

I'm sure our auditors and partners will be watching this closely, for potential reputational damage. Which, I think will be enough for any punishment to be minimal and nowhere near the sensationalist relegation headlines we've been seeing.
Worth pointing out that Etihad made their books, independent auditor and chief exec available to CAS.

i thought we wont it 2-1 and the one against was the UEFA delegate?
I thought that also. But had a quick look on the Internet and one article said 4-3. Regardless it was one vote and CAS is pretty well respected for being independent and fair. There is no way the PL is going to be anywhere near independent and fair.

I'm not sure they can back down now unless they see the evidence, think fuck there's nothing we can prove there and shit it. They may then issue a statement saying, in view of the evidence received the premier league will not be pursuing the case, adding if they'd received this evidence earlier it wouldn't have proceeded this far.
They know the evidence is frivolous & nothing more than a fishing expedition, but that wouldn’t stop them trying, they’re coming after us for other reasons, which will become clear in the cold light of day. This isn’t about City sailing close to the wind on financials, it’s a power struggle, we’ve all seen how PSG came out of theirs with Uefa. Agree on the statement early doors, that would be an off ramp for all concerned, but if it was to continue then this could be the equivalent of the PL eating itself, something people have long warned about, and a real get the popcorn moment for the rest of football. I generally hope we’re prepared to burn the house down with ourselves in it, if it comes to that, no doubt we’ll be giving those signals off

If the committee isn't as neutral as CAS, then that is a fault in the procedure in my book.
