PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I think they will be fine under FFP as they can always sell a couple of players to offset their losses

Swiss Ramble did a great breakdown explaining what it might look like for them

their cash flow is another matter though , although FFP doesn’t look at the cash flow statement ….

I think they may need to finish top 4 ,or they could be another Leeds

Ta, not seen anything from Swiss Ramble for a while now, but he's very good. He was my first entry into football finance, before PB!

I was thinking that the CL money was probably important, more than the transfers - as you say, they can _probably_ find someone to sell, and it's all positive income. I don't think they'll be a Leeds though, as they won't run out of money completely.

Surely Miggy Delooney is the man.
His piece on “it’s not FFP, it’s fraud” underscored his utter lack of understanding of accounting and finance. I hope all this shit IS about fraud because I can’t for the life of me understand how a panel of non-experts are possibly going to investigate, prove, test, gather evidence and conclude City committed true reporting fraud — for years — under the nose of their auditors. What’s Miggy going to say then?

77 was a very good team, put together by Tony Book. Guess what Swales did next.
Swales ruined us , and since he did we lost our way as a genuine big club , it’s something these young kids have no idea about when they call us an “oil” club, we had bigger average attendances than all of the London clubs back then , I think all older football fans know it - sadly , any fan under 40 out there actually don’t know how big a club we were. We’ve been tarnished ever since Swales fucked off. Hey Ho , back to FFP talk !

Runners up by 1 point in 77.
Finished 4th in 72 behind winners Derby by 1 point, same number of points as Leeds and Victimpool.
I can't recall Spurs putting in a serious and sustained challenge for the league in my lifetime, they were there abouts under Pochettino but fell away when it came down to the business end of the season.
They flirted with it in 1985/6 (iirc) under Pleat when Clive Allen scored 49 (again, iirc).

Leeds were borrowing against future earnings that weren't guaranteed.
They failed to qualify for the champions league one year and couldn't repay monies they had borrowed on the premis that they would have this income.
They had to sell a lot of players to pay back the money they owed, turned to shit and spent 16 years outside the top flight.
My understanding is that FFP wouldn't have prevented them doing what they did but I'm sure some of the more knowledgeable posters on here will correct me if I'm wrong as I'm not entirely sure.
