PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Our lawyers need to look hard - and of course they will do - at UK competition rules and in particular whether taking action against City and City alone infringes those rules - abuse of a dominant position perhaps, although that would require some creative interpretation. The rules are complex and I'm retired, so I'm not up to date. But a brief scan through them implies that some doors might open to cause difficulties either for the Premier League or the other 19 members.
While I continue to warn everyone to be wary of revenge fantasies, I agree that if City are aggressively financially and/or sporting-wise punished for FFP-only violations (not for “fraud” in a traditional financial sense which I very much doubt can/will happen) this has to be the nuclear escalation option.

Couple of main points.

Attacks the establishment again.

Reputational damage is done. We received no apology from Uefa. Interesting he does say that he knew at Bayern how and why ffp was being brought in to stop us because we won too much.

Won’t abandon his friends/ our owners.

I think he did have another dig at Levy about wanting our champions league money to fund the new stadium! So it appears he is massively involved. As we know the Germans were when it came to der spiegal and the hacked out of context email.

So all in all the major players in football and spurs have had it in for us for a very long time now. Winning so much under pep must have pushed them to the edge. Fair play my arse.

He does embody the Catalonian fight and is bringing it too city. For say what you want about us, pep is an honest noble warrior against unjust and unfair treatment. Yellow wall needed to stand in solidarity.
