The chair of the commission, David Phillips KC, also referenced applications for financial compensation from current Premier League clubs Burnley and Nottingham Forest and last season's relegated sides, Leicester City, Leeds United and Southampton.

Phillips said he was "satisfied that the applicant clubs have potential claims for compensation" - but noted the commission holds no "inherent jurisdiction" and it is instead "the role of the Premier League to bring and prosecute complaints".

I'll tell you something. If clubs are getting punished for "taking chances" with investment in players, then Chelsea are in big trouble this year, and next if they don't quality for Europe.

Has the PL aligned its amortisation period with UEFA, by the way?
 
It's hilarious, but predictable, that it's Everton,who by their own admission are guilty and have been docked points, but all the talk is about us.

If they have breached UEFA FFP regulations, they have by extension breached PL rules.

Edited and corrected to say that PL FFP have not necessarily been breached, but PL rules are broken when a club fails UEFA FFP.
