Had a convo on sat night with a rag.
This was your first mistake. =)

Always reassuring to find an outsider with the intelligence and free thinking to see it for what it is.This is why I defend City in every football squabble i have of late - I hate that tag "cheats". If City had been charged with match fixing, or giving bungs to refs, then sure, that label would be fair enough. For what you're actually being accused of, even if you were found guilty it wouldn't make a blind bit of difference to how I perceive your club, as it would be nothing more than using a bit of creative accounting to overcome a massively flawed system that is weighted towards 3 or 4 clubs. In my eyes those 3 or 4 clubs are causing far more damage to the English game than anything Manchester City are accused of. They can't handle the fact that you're better on the pitch and just as good off it these days. I just wish more people could see it.
No one is suggesting that our accounts are fraudulent or our auditors have done anything wrong. Audits are not there to prevent fraud. Our auditors are not expected to go to the Middle East to try the impossible task of verifying the original source of funds coming into the club. In fact, if we were accused of some criminal charge I would be more comfortable. The standard of evidence required would no doubt ensure that most of the PL accusations would be immediately thrown out.I still struggle with the fact that we are basically being accused of cooking the books, the same books that have some of the top independent auditors going through and signing off. Our books have been subjected to repeated audits by Uefa who also were unable to prove we did anything underhand.
For me the key thing behind all of this is have we done anything fraudulent, if we have then we are just plain stupid and deserve to be punished however I think it is much more likely that we have been creative with our accounting in order to comply with whatever rules were in place at the time. Now as long as this accounting falls in line with legal process then we are fine.
I have worked in enough large corporations to know that they move money all over the place in order to save costs and maximise profit. As an example the CFG, if they choose to funnel all the office admin for all the clubs through one central source then that is completely up to us. The fact that other clubs don't or aren't able to do the same is not our issue. If we can demonstrate we are following a sound business model then we are safe.
It just really pisses me off that when you talk to most fans of other clubs they just follow the narrative that we are cheats, some feel we will be punished some thing we will "get off" but hardly anyone considers that we may just be correct and very good at what we do.
As you say we will be cleared of the main charges but some of the minor shit will stick which will allow Jordan et Al to claim we we found guilty. The PL have decided, after being goaded by the cartel and UEFA, if you can't beat City on the pitch, the only option is to throw the rule book at us and hope something sticks. The anti City agenda has been clear for years. We have upset the party. City will no doubt fight hard. However, when we are cleared of the main charges there will still be the rival fans who will say that City cheated because its the only victory they can achieve in their corrupted little minds. Come on City!
I should have said we've got a jack, queen, king and a couple of pairs. :)It was a nice rallying call, I'll give you that!
Fuckoff you inbred 6 fingered wankers.
