PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Ha. I remember CAS judgement day, I did absolutely zero work all fucking day and immediately went to the pub as soon as the result came in and drank their finest (cheapest) Cava all afternoon whilst reading the full 91 page verdict. (I was 4 hours ahead so it wasn’t morning drinking)

I’d accept the same day all over again.
The verdict was announced by a short press release. The 91 page document with the full details did not follow until 2 weeks or so later.

Alcohol plays tricks with memory ..my bet is that you were pissed on both days :)

I have a feeling this will result in just another non-cooperation charge sticking like was the case with UEFA. The only charge which I am aware of that slightly concerns me is the consultancy payments made to Mancini, but even if proven the punishment would be a fine? It certainly isn’t cheating - the word that opposition fans love to level at us. To me cheating is the match fixing exposed in Italy.
The Mancini consultancy deal with the club in Abu Dhabi happened four years before FFP rules came in for the PL and before he joined City.

It was glorious, Sky Sports camped on the other side of the road of the South Stand ready to broadcast our demise. The guy reporting looked like he had been told his wife had been shagging someone else and his dog had been run over when having to read out the statement.

Has anyone got a YouTube clip of it? It will be fucking glorious when we can play this one out again with the Premier League.

Serie A docked points from Juventus with games remaining.

The Premier League made a statement and allowed it to get to the end of the season.

UEFA did something and little happened.

Italian football does appear stronger, whilst the PL and UEFA ruin their own brands.
Thats the bit that gets me. We have the best coach in the world. He's attracted top talent, our finances have been trickling down the other clubs and the PL product. (Haaland wouldnt be in this league if it wasnt for Pep).

Its clear this is all about getting Pep, stopping our success from becoming something that eclipses the red clubs.

Literally it feels like they just want Pep to go... Hence all the questions "when are you leaving Pep, will you leave, does this make you feel differently about leaving".
They known our success is the ultimate of football, you cannot achieve what he has again... Top manager, limitless finances (Within FFP), the same business mindset from top to bottom (Basically Pep has had his dream come true - fashion the team of his dreams, he couldnt achieve that anywhere else because of the politics of those clubs and money which only those clubs have)

So they want Pep gone, and where is he going to go? Maybe France make that league better? Spain again? whatever, this league loses out and on top of that a rival league might just eclipse what's happening here in the PL.

Meanwhile we go back to a red top league.

I was quite confident up to about 30 minutes before the verdict was due to be announced, then I was absolutely bricking it, having been quite vocal that we'd not be found 'guilty'. I had to take the afternoon off work as my head had gone completely.
