Yeah, but if the Abu Dhabi Government contacted the British government [where does it say that? The headline states that the Foreign Office in London has spoken to our own Embassy in Abu Dhabi, not the Abu Dhabi Government], in order to influence an ongoing investigation or to make it go away, then that doesn't look very good, does it? [if that was what is being alleged, then no it wouldn’t look good, but, erm, that isn’t being alleged is it?! There’s no mention of the Abu Dhabi Government contacting anyone, and of course the FO is in contact with our Embassy about it, cos there’ll likely be fucking mayhem out there if the Kangaroo Court hands down a guilty verdict].
Especially if we are adamant that City are not state owned, so why is the Abu Dhabi government getting involved in a football matter? [for a 3rd time, it isn’t, but even if it were, it would hardly be an unmerited surprise. The PL, as pressurised by the usual red suspects, is calling out the deputy Prime Minister and the brother of the country’s leader as crooks. I would think they’d be pretty fucking angry about that and want answers from the Government of the country in which the PL operates, aka the usual diplomatic channels.]
If the intention was to have their day in court, you wouldn't be knocking on the door of number 10, as some people on here have mentioned, threatening to cancel Billions of investment.
If that is the case, then the charges have to have some merit. [Really? The Court Rooms of the world are littered with the corpses of those who naively thought that getting in front of a judge and having ‘their say‘ would be enough to ascertain a not guilty verdict. It’s a cut throat business and you take every chance you can get to lever things your way, innocent or guilty.]
