PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Do you have inside knowledge that there is no “hard evidence”? Nobody on here has much idea what the evidence against us is, we know the charges but the evidence is only disclosed to City…two completely different things.

I have no inside knowledge and as much hard evidence as the cunts condemning us in the media, namely fuck all.

My strong suspicion that there is no such evidence is based on the absence of any particulars whatsoever in the public domain when the PL’s default mode is to leak like a fucking sieve, and the fact that the useless cunts couldn’t even get the charges right in the first instance.

If they had the body of evidence you suspect they might then I think it’s virtually impossible that there wouldn’t be more details in the public domain, and moreover that they would have framed the charges around that evidence in a considered and properly particularised fashion.

I believe the absence of any particulars makes my supposition far more likely than yours. If the PL had this evidence it’s inconceivable we wouldn’t have heard more about it. Perfectly stands to reason.

Does anyone know where the PL came up with the 10 point deduction for Everton from. Is it part of the FFP rules or did they just pull a number out of the air, like they do with added on time?

I know this may sound like a kamikaze approach but still…

Club said they have irrefutable evidence. Why not publish it on the City website? No need to wait, get the info out there. Show the payments and explanations then watch the fallout. Hit back against the media. I am not saying give the sensitive info that would aid our rivals but just the simple payment structure and the explanation.

We are losing the hearts and minds battle ground anyway.

I’m one of those people who thinks it’s a stitch up due to pressure from outside influences. I don’t understand how this proves it’s not.

I broadly agree. It's hard not to think it's politically motivated to create maximum damage.

Historically Stefan disregards all politics, innuendo, conspiracy theory etc irrespective of how much weight we might put on it and sticks to the legal interpretaion.

IF the club was charged with fraud then realistically people are looking at jail time, this is what really makes me believe that the PL dont have anything, if they had the evidence for these charges they would and should have turned it over to the CPS who could have obtained a legal warrant to turn over everything they needed to prove criminality, why havent they?

This is why there's a BIG difference between breaking sovereign laws & breaking the rules of a private members club.

City haven't broken any laws, but UEFA G/14 & the PL seem to believe their rules stand above European & UK Law. They don't.

Things like this should definitely be tackled by the club. Trouble with media is that it “employs” people related to football - such as ex players - who frankly, are uneducated & it shows. I’m not saying they are thick but they don’t have the knowledge, background, education or experience to offer comments. Yet they are put into these situations that give them an uninformed voice

I'd argue that you're thick to a certain extent, if you're commenting on something complex which you know you have little knowledge about.

I wouldn't try and diagnose a car which has broken down, as I'm an Accountant.
