PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

The quantifiable loss is a fair point and is applicable to the Everton case. Many are saying that other clubs can now sue. How do you prove that a £20 m loss over 3 years gave Everton an advantage to warrant a points deduction. Other clubs loss can be quantified if they were relegated but surely you cannot correlate such a small overspend in that way. Clubs spend millions on a season and could end up with less points than the previous season. Spend does not guarantee points.
If a club is looking remuneration because they got relegated and another team broke financial rules, said club must also open their books for the same time period.

On the field crapness is no excuse to demand financial remuneration.

You were not good enough on the field to get points and you were not good enough off the field with buying players and you were not good enough coaching said players.

The blame someone else culture is alive and kicking!

I've just had a thought about our previous fight with UEFA and at that time there was suspicion towards two or three persons who had left upper admin roles at City only to join Liverpool. Soon after that there was the leaking of emails that was to lead to us 'taking a pinch' at the CAS.

It seems a bit of a coincidence but one of them left that dump and, it's reported, is wanted by Sir Jim Rat in a senior admin role.

Now I'm sure that is only a coincidence and nothing back then was proven apart from our innocence but we do live in a strange old world.

Well in.

Look at the rags for starters.

Spent billions and are fucking wank.

Etihad Airways PLC...
One thing learnt from the EFC ruling is the level of resolution the IC are forced to document and publish in the public domain. So forget all the vague rule number quoting in the charges. They will have to say unequivocally that the executives of MCFC and Ethihad Airways conspired to falsify accounts and artificially inflate sponsorship fees. They will also have to publish the compelling evidence that proved the PL charge. In addition, Ethihad have paid over a hundred million to sponsor a PL and ECL team, not just an EFL team.
The idea that Ethihad would not have grounds to sue the PL is ridiculous. Same applies for Etisalat and Aabar.

This is the thing that worries me. For City to be found innocent will be very embarrassing for the pl. The pl have allowed the American owners to push the pl to this point.
For the pl to falsely bring 115 charges against one of its members would be a disaster for the pl.

This is why I think City will not get a independent hearing. I know people say those doing the hearing are KC but the British judicial service is riddled with wrong doings.
Everton were charged with breaching FFP by overspending. It's on their books for all to see and they've admitted to it as well.

In our situation the Prem is in effect saying that City defrauded the Prem in concert with several other large business entities. The scope of what we're being accused of cannot exist without our colluding with our sponsors. Does anyone really think these companies are going to allow themselves to be called frauds in the name of some petty jealousy among the Reds et al?

Does anyone really think Roberto Mancini will allow his reputation to be sullied based on a loose interpretation of his professional dealings?

Are the various auditors involved with the club over the years going to stand by and be accused of colluding with City? Or maybe even worse for them be seen as completely incompetent in terms of discovering irregularities in our books?

As far as being noncooperative, what business entity in their right mind would feel compelled to provide unlimited information to a party that proves to be pursuing frivolous charges in order to support a vindictive agenda?

If the Prem is unable to prove any of the fraudulent items they're accusing us of there is no scenario in the real world which will allow them to carry out any form of nonsensical "punishment". It doesn't work that way. There is a burden of proof on the Prem that must be met, simple as...Pressure from outside sources like other clubs, the media, other fans and such means ZERO in terms of what the Prem can actually do. They can take the UEFA approach but if they choose to ignore the facts of the case and proceed with any actions anyway the Club will seek and find remedy elsewhere. And those saying that's not an option will be proven wrong, bet on it.

It is amazing that just a couple of people can decide to ruin a Multi Billion pound company. Seemingly only needing a certain amount of truth on the allegations too.

A valid point , the Premier league accusing major compnaies of fraud will have massive ramifications for Master's and his motley crew , the damages will run into billions.
Not sure Master's has thought this one through , what a prick
This is a good point and not something I’d previously considered. He’s in danger of looking like an even bigger dick than I thought, especially if the PL lose the case.
