Spuds did this in 1994/95 ( I think).No, it means any appeal will involve suing them in the High Court. We would allege onerous behaviour, unfair practice etc. Its a double edged sword. If we won in HC, PL would be ordered to cancel the punishment and maybe rehear with an appeal rule in place. Also, they open up themselves to damages.
They were banned from the FA Cup, had a 12pt deduction and fined £600,000.
Alan Sugar said "fuck you," took the FA PL to the High Court and won.
The Cup ban and points deduction were revoked but the fine was increased to £1.5m.
All this came about from financial irregularities in the 80's.
