PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Thanks all for the comments. I feel it is not credible (especially as I have said it before), to dance around what happens if everything is proven. It is the key part of why I don't believe they will ultimately prove the allegations. And nobody can be in doubt as to the seriousness now post Everton if we are found to have breached these rules on a wholesale basis for a decade. I know it is not a good soundbite and yes this is a little naive but it is difficult to tread that line.
I thought you got the balance spot on. If you'd come across as a City apologist, Jordan would've been all over it. He was all bluster and had no comeback when faced with a factual and authorative guest.

Congratulations on a job well done.

It absolutely wasnt harder to win when forest won the EC , have a look at the games played and the amount of games played to reach a final.

The knock out stage of the champs league is infinitely harder to get through.

Have a look at villas run to the final! Even easier
You needed to be top of a 42 game division 1 to qualify which was possibly the hardest part.

The thing I don't get in any of this is. For the PL to have a successful case and punish us without any legal challenge back from us, they need to prove that we are legally guilty of fraud, which is a crime. The only way they can truly find us guilty of that is for it to go to a legal court. As this isn't a legal court, fraud cannot be proven. Hence the whole set of proceedings is a complete farce.

I listen to it live and although Stephan was very good I do believe he needed to choose his words better, especially knowing how that station would twist everything.

When explaining the sheer scale of what would be a major fraud case, he said the PL would struggle to prove it. I believe he should have stressed more that its unbelievable that such a giant fraud could be possible without a whistle-blower or easy evidence being found after 6 years of looking.

For me it gave Jordan the ongoing chance to say, we are guilty but the PL just weren't clever enough to prove it.

Just my take.
I don’t agree with that at all. After correctly recording he was a City fan then he did the correct thing in talking about facts and processes

If he was trying to embellish it in the way you suggest, he would have come across as bitter City fan.

He did an excellent interview and wasn’t flustered or emotional in his delivery and understanding of what has happened.

Apologies if already posted, the 442 website has a decent write-up of the Talksport chat

Somebody thatsobjective is how it left his mouth

Quite clearly he says that's objective, but the way it came out it could be heard as being subjective purely because of the 's' at the end of thats!
Have just listened and hats off to Stefan. I thought he was articulate, showed credibility and clearly tried to give as objective view as he could. trouble is he is dealing with morons and in Jordan's case a nasty moron with a clear agenda. the fact that he talked about relegation was quite clever because he then went on to show what the PL needed to prove which looks increasingly unlikely that ghey can.
I don't know why some fans are apparently a bit critical - suppose it's the fashion in these days to be contrary but we should all be applauding him.

Absolutely this. The hardest part was qualifying, because you had to win the league - well we did that anyway, so that's that covered anyway.

After that, can we compare Dortmund, Seville, Copenhagen, Leipzig, Bayern, Madrid and Inter with... Oster, Arges Pitesti, Dynamo Berlin, Ajax and Hamburg, for example...

Yeah but back in those days it was lose and ur done, these days u could concievably lose 3 games in the group stages and another 3 in the knockouts and still make the final, i mean we didnt lose a game so wed have been fine in both eras ;)

Nope, back then it was knockout, but over two legs still, so plenty of chances to lose and go through still.

If there is no proof of wrong doing the tribunal should quickly realise this process is a waste of time and bring the proceedings to a relatively speedy end. No evidence. Nothing to talk about. My understanding is the PL need to bring the evidence to the table. Not City. If the PL are relying on the Der Spiegel emails City's lawyers will be able defend these robustly. The only issue is whether the PL have new evidence that we are not aware.
