PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Sorry but that’s the last thing we need. City know what needs to be done and quite rightly do not get distracted from winning. It’s not what City say that matters it’s what they do.

Our guys are well above public arguments and so they should be.

You must realise that our rivals are dying for City to comment so that the noise is escalated.

Say nothing, give them nothing, keep winning.
Exactly. Maintain a dignified silence and deal with any concerns confidentially. The key part of Ceferin's interview is when he says: “I don’t want to speak about the case in England. But I trust that the decision of our independent body was correct. I didn’t enter into this decision.” To my mind, that merely says that he wasn't involved but backs his people. This is not extraordinary.

Which is fair. Yet it jeopardises City's relationship with its own fans, IMO.

As fans, I think we have a right to create a stink about that. There are people being paid vast sums of money to spin both these plates and keep us happy.
UEFA and the PL could literally exclude us from the very competitions the fans turn up to see. The priority is absolutely keeping the club in the competitions it needs to survive rather than looking after fans first world problems.

Our owner has given us more than we ever dreamt possible. Now they need to protect the club and are going about it the best they can. They don't need a bunch of fans moaning and complaining whilst they are trying to keep our great club from being potentially destroyed.

The club's appeasement approach appears to have backfired - alternatively some on here I'm sure would argue - that but for the appeasement approach, it could be even worse - hard to imagine but that's what they'll say.

We'll never know, but I thought our handling of IstanBusgate was to not rattle the Uefa hornet's nest - well their CEO was certainly not being so diplomatic in return. However some choose to construe/excuse his interjection - now was certainly not the time for his comments.

One of the papers stated last week that we could expect to hear something on city's case early this week. I can’t remember if it was the torygraph or grundian (other papers are available). I wonder if the interview with Ceferin and his view that they (UEFA) were right, obviously designed to prejudice current proceedings and / or the proposed Sheikh torygraph takeover is it?

Of course there could be an announcement today or tomorrow (ahead of the Spurs game) so this post may not age too well

I reckon it's to do with the telegraph takeover too.

he could and should not have said anything in the grand scheme of things but thats a failure on him to even take the interview, i actually think in the grand scheme of things this is going to go much deeper than an independent commission as the pl have got themselves into a battle they know they effectively cant win and are trying every single they can to extricate themselves from it.
That’s the point exactly. In his position, given the extreme sensitivities, he should not have given the interview or at very least make it clear from the outset he wasn’t going to discuss City at all.

That, in his position, he should comment at all is extraordinary and can only be aimed at damaging us.

The funniest thing is how many of you are getting distracted from the real issue.. 2 of the supposed biggest clubs not in the Champions League yet the world keeps on spinning and continuing as if nothing has happened.

They can't beat us in the courts or on the field so they're trying to beat us by raising our blood pressure!

They just can't stand us and AFAIK that's not a crime.

Would any other global brands put up with all this bullshit, lies and slander from journalists and rivals?

Maybe I’m wrong but I’m sure if companies like Coca Cola, Apple, Amazon, etc were enduring the kind of witch hunt City face they’d have sued all perpetrators for millions.

Why the fuck are we so fucking soft? It’s no wonder cunts like Carragher, Neville and dickhead journos perpetuate their lies and insinuations, they never have to face any challenge.

How about City pay the right kind of people to make up stories about some of our rivals‘ finances, or certain journos cheating on their wives …
