PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Let's hope they follow the shining example of Barcelona.

They've moved out of their 99,000 capacity stadium to build a new bigger one.

The temporary stadium has a capacity about half that, and they've only sold out one game this season. Against Atletico Madrid they had less than 35,000 fans - 15k empty seats!
Maybe it goes to prove that more tourists go to watch Barcelona @ the Nou Camp than Barcelona itself

The difference between Sir Rat and Lord Mansour is that Sir Rat needs the bank and Lord Mansour is the bank.
Which is why he won’t say a bad word about City. Wouldn’t it be hilarious if Jim came cap n hand looking Abu Dhabi to fund the refurb? At one point Mansour was happy to help Real Madrid until it turned toxic.

The rags fanbase would never live it down. Cheating city ruined your sporting achievements and built your stadium. Hahaha it’s too funny.

I work in Trafford Park about 10 minutes walk from The Swamp and between the stadium and where I am there is - somewhat worryingly - a fair bit of unused land. There's also a huge chunk of land owned by them right opposite our works that is currently used for match-day parking. I think they could conceivably slap a new stadium on there and while that's being built they could keep playing at The Swamp. I suppose it all depends on how much they're prepared to spend but that would seem to be the most realistic and least disruptive option.

That’s the obvious plan but it’ll come
With a price tag of more than £2 billion. Let’s see if Scuffy Jim or the Glazers are prepared to borrow that and put the Rags £3billion plus in debt ? I think we know this will end in a much hyped refurbished.

Bolton or Wigan are the obvious options
Absolutely. Both clubs would benefit from a cash injection for us of the ground. Before they say the stadiums are not big enough restrict ticket sales to Greater Manchester residents only and see if they can fill it without their Irish
and Cockny tourists!

As a proper socialist young fella (Thatcher was voted as Prime Minister on my 20th birthday) I was proper left wing, attended Rock against Racism rallies, Anti Nazi Lesgue against the National Front, wore the badges, loved the punk scene. However to complete the “lefty” persona reading the “Ragged Trousered Philanthropist” was essential.

That book has clear parallels with society today, not turning this into politics as there’s a thread for that but it’s a very good, informative story for anyone interested in history, especially the struggle the working class endured.
Brilliant book. Everyone should read.
