If the above was the case with ManUre, Chavs & the Dippers dominating English football, with City being Europa/Conference League regulars at best, dya really think we'd be going through the FFP/PSR travails we are now & have in the past? No chance!

The important thing with regards to the money is qualification for the Champions League. Once you're there. you earn significantly greater income (and profit) by extra TV, commercial deals, matchday income etc. In England, it was all very nice - three spots for Liverpool, Man U and Arsenal. Then along come Chelsea and miraculously a fourth spot opens up. Then along comes City and...oh, wait a minute. the existing teams can't simply guarantee qualifying each year. Even more problematic with Newcastle threatening to join the party....

So actually who wins is irrelevant, just being in the room's the key to this. So, stop the new guys becoming good enough, and as a side issue relieve the pressure on the existing teams actually ahving to spend to keep up...

So just so I've got this clear.

1)FFP was dreamed up to have the league always be won by United or Liverpool.

2)FFP was brought in and in place for 10 years.

3) United and Liverpool have won 1 title in this time.

You've convinced yourself a scheme was created to stop City, it was brought in, it had absolutely zero effect, and that's proof the evil scheme exists.

...and now the rules are being changed to benefit new owners with money coming in and competing with the "protected teams" you're convinced that's also proof of the protection scheme.

Which is all a great theory apart from the fact it (a) didn't stop the new guys becoming good enough and (b) didn't relieve any pressure on the existing teams spending to keep up, United are the highest spending team in the league and they're paying record amounts to do record breakingly bad.

Whether there’s an organised conspiracy or not, there can be no doubt that whatever attempts there have been to hamper our progress have plainly been (to date) inefficacious.

There is simply no escaping that and is not always reflected in much of the output in this thread.
