Very true. Now you mention it, I can't recall seeing online arguments erupt because someone gave a thumbs down.

Adding emojis is as simple as allowing certain types of unicodes. Evidently it's a choice not to allow them, rather than it being a technical limitation of the website or app.

Iirc there wasn’t that option offered back in the day when the addition of the ‘like’ button (and whether to have a few more - anger, love etc) was discussed… (and possibly voted on, can’t remember).
I’d be happy with a dislike reaction, but no more.

With regard to emoji’s I don’t know why they are disabled from appearing, presumably to stop abuse of the ability to clutter up the textual clean forum (have you seen rawk?!).

I was also against avatar’s and the like , and still am. The screen real estate on a phone is limited enough (with ads) for the forum, and having avatars/animated avatars is just distracting and takes space.

Anyway, maybe start a thread in the technical area?
