PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

This is going to be a very odd period for the club. We're going to be playing in the Premier League while effectively at war with them.

It's going to cast even more doubt on referee appointments, VAR decisions, etc.

And if we do overhaul Arsenal, and the Premier League have to crown us Champions, it's all going to feel rather awkward.

It wouldn't be quite so bad if the PL were investigating 3 or 4 clubs, but it seems to be their view that no one else has done anything wrong; all problems lie with City who have committed 100+ offences.
The Premier League pay masters, we all no which clubs they are, plus the imminent government findings on governance have hurried the Premier League to be seen to getting their own house in order ! City are now confident the fact they can use evidence from the time banned period UEFA imposed will help their cause ! Having had time to digest the league have used the if you sling another mud at something enough will stick process, I think most charges will be dismissed as petty and all those ejaculateing over our demise will be disappointed in the end ! Really hope we clear a our name but at worse another fine is the likely outcome !

In a nutshell that is it. It demoralises the whole club from top to bottom no matter how bullish some fans get on here. Pep and the players start thinking, "Why go all out to win if they might take away any titles we do?" Sponsors will be wary and so will players from joining us. Football is so competitive just a tiny drop off is the difference between success and failure. As we lose ground as a result our rivals grow stronger and I'm sure even tighter rules will be brought in to ensure that stays the case.

Of course the opposite could happen and it galvanises the whole club but I think that's unlikely. We cannot allow this to drag on for years as the damage will be almost as great as losing the case.

Which is why it’s in City’s interest to resolve this as soon as possible. The longer a cloud is allowed to hang over the club it’s at risk of causing instability. Will players want to sign in the summer if there is a question mark over the likely sanctions that could be applied? Will Pep still be there? Not good.

no but i do find this incredibly funny this is in manchester united annual report, notice how their is no big song and dance in the media?
Very true but they were that shite they failed to qualify for any European Comps the next season so UEFA could do nothing !

I hope City aren’t briefing they expect to lose at the first instance already. The scale of the charges levelled against City, that our accounts were dishonest, would mean that a guilty verdict (as such) would mean relegation but subject to appeal. If we lose at the first instance we lose the war, any successful appeal thereafter are only minimising losses.

If what you’ve posted is true about short to medium term pain the PL have won already. They will have neutralised Pep in his final 2 seasons. An effective transfer ban while our team badly needs reinforcements. A ban while several players are pushing to leave or out of contract will leave us struggling for top 4. It will mean Peps final 2 seasons will be played out with a squad padded by youth team players or short term signing. The damage will already have been done regardless of any verdict.

It's an odd one and makes you wonder why we sold two very good squad players to one of our biggest enemies, Arsenal, let Sterling go to another rival and Cancelo to Bayern. Did the club know something we didn't at the time and this was a result?
