@Prestwich_Blue I've had a second source unconnected to my original source tell me that the broad outcome was clear 6 months ago, even if the formal verdict wasn't. Is the delay due to attempts at damage limitation? Are the departures of Levy & Lewis connected or coincidental?

No. I quoted PB because, for some reason, I could not reply to his message this morning. I know absolutely nothing about the case, nor have I heard any rumours.

My guess at the broad outcome:
1. City cleared of the major charges that suggest our accounts were not accurate.
2. City recommended to be fined for non co-operation and maybe a minor charge.
3. Premier League heavily criticised for pursuing charges for which
they had no evidence and for unnecessarily adding too many charges to the case. Criticised for seeming collusion with cartel clubs.
4. PL to pay its own costs and part of City’s. Figures to be decided at later hearing.
5. Trebles all round at the Etihad. Extra Haut Brion for Pannick. World scoop for PB.
