PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Nobody cares about City, have no fans, we are irrelevant, how could any commercial deals we get come close to what Liverpool have?

The reality is that Puma wouldn't be paying us a fortune if they weren't selling jerseys. Chatting to a guy in a sports shop in Spain, he said all the kids want Haaland jerseys, more than Messi, Ronaldo, and a Mo Salah Liverpool jersey didn't come remotely close.

The change since we won the champions league and Haaland signed has been huge. The kids are on TikTok, Instagram, and City are huge (massive even) on those sites.

Independent tracker shows that from September 2022 to September 2023, City added 35.2m social media followers, a 29% increase, Liverpool added 11.6m, a 9% increase.

Also we rank 5th in the world with 156m followers across all platforms, Liverpool are about 20m behind on 136m.

On TikTok City had 111m engagements, Liverpool had 68m.

The next generation are City fans, advertisers understand that. The Liverpool fans you hear squealing are all older generation, they simply can't comprehend how a club with one top division title in 35 years is less popular with kids than the guys who won 6 of the last 7. They can't take it.

Sorry for these boring facts, I know FOCs like me don't really care about social media, but that's where the money is. The future is not in some Liverpool fans reminiscing about beating Crusaders, Trabzonspor, and FC Zurich on route to the "Champions League" final in 1977, or in 1978 when they got a bye in the first round and only played 3 ties (monchengladbach, benfica and Dresden), before beating Brugge in the final, or how they won it in '81 beating OPS, Aberdeen and CSKA Sofia to reach the Semi final. Such a myth, take a serious look at how they won those European Cups, minnow opposition, and they try to claim 6 Champions Leagues....deluded. ( I really don't like Liverpool)...

It’s true.
Even saw a Haaland jersey on a 7-8 year old kid over here in Dublin last week.
Not the first City jersey I’ve seen down in the local park either.

An increase in far right political party's gaining traction in europe.
.... just a thought but could this shift have an impact on what we are witnessing against our owners?

Not the direct PL charges - but the actual attitude towards their ownership and investment. I believe there is definite racism from the media in the UK

Far right party's in Portugal (chega) are gaining vast votes, France having a snap election due to a far right party forcing macron

And far right party's now making significant gains across other european nations topping votes in Germany and Austria, finland etc

Simon Jordan’s veil slipped a little today, when he started spouting out that our owners didn’t allow democracy on their country.
He’s so desperate to be controversial.

Give me autocracy in the UAE over living in the U.K. any day. If someone breaks in your house here you will be lucky if any copper turns up within 24 hours. Abu Dhabi and Dubai are amongst some of the safest cities to live in in the world. If it’s such a terrible place to live when are so many Brits out there working?

Friend of mine lived there. Had a villa in the Jumeria triangle. His upstairs doors and windows didn’t even have locks.

It’s the level of hate, it’s just weird. We aren’t even owned by the ‘UAE’.

I wish someone someone had have phoned him and reminded him that law is the cornerstone of any governance and especially democracy. And the PL are breaking the law.

Challenging broken laws and questioning governance through legal means is fundamental to a democracy.

Super post.

Just to add to the social media stuff, i was a guest in the club box last season, at the same time some french actress was in (mind blowingly fit), blossoms lads, kevin cummings and nigerias biggest rap star.
Asked the guy i was with what the crack with the rapper was, “oh hes got x millions followers on socials, we just ask him to post that hes here and he gets what he wants”.
