PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

As far as I understand it, if we were found guilty of those charges, any sanctioning would be the subject of another hearing. Then there’s a potential appeal, although I’ve heard mixed things on whether an appeal is possible or not.

Either way I’d say it would still be a couple of seasons after.

We can appeal within the provisions of PL rule W, but only to an Appeals Board involving another independent commission appointed by the Chair of the Judicial Panel.

We can't take our case to CAS. Nor to the civil courts unless we have very narrow grounds around abuse of process.
 
Ive got a 'growing feeling' that tomorrow we will be a day nearer hearing the verdict than we are today.

I do remain convinced though that Masters/ the PL would be unable to keep bad news for city a secret for this long though.

Tolmie said the internal belief at the club was that it would come between the season end and the World Cup.

Annual accounts from the 20 teams in England’s top flight covering the 2024-25 season show that 14 clubs reported pre-tax losses, despite revenues rising to more than £6.8bn across the league from £6.3bn a year earlier.

Chelsea, controlled by US private equity firm Clearlake Capital, reported a loss of £262mn, a record for an English club. Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham, both currently fighting to avoid relegation, made losses of £120.7mn and £104mn respectively.


English football has attracted billions of pounds of investment, much of it from the US, including from wealthy individuals, hedge funds, private equity firms and sovereign wealth funds.

However, M&A activity has cooled recently, in part owing to concerns about the ability to generate financial returns in an intensely competitive league, as well as the high valuations demanded by existing owners.

Some clubs limited their losses last year by selling assets to related parties. Newcastle United reported a pre-tax profit of £34.7mn, but only after it sold its stadium to the club’s parent company for £172.1mn.

His body language was very telling. He despises our club for some reason. I know for a fact he spread poison about City to his pals in the media. I don't really understand his motivation. He has very strong Liverpool FC links of course but he also worked for the Qatari regime during their World Cup bid and was a Director of New York Cosmos who made trouble for CFG with their attempts to build a new stadium for New York City FC. I am sure Khaldoon knows everything about him though.
