PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I think it would have been stopped before it got to this stage - especially in view of the damage to the club’s reputation - if the AF sovereign wealth fund had any influence
I don’t think the AD fund could influence the PL but Khaldoon is a major figure and I think this will help ensure we get a fair hearing from the panel. Whatever anyone says political and media pressure plays a part in legal battles. Look at the recent sentences for the rioters for starters. And that was a criminal case.

I admire your naivety, personally I think we'll be found guilty of most charges with scant evidence just like UEFA's independent panel, it'll be buried under the red-top outrage to disassemble Manchester City and ten year bans.
UEFA’s panel was corrupt. Read the CAS verdict on our interlocutory appeal.
This panel will not be corrupt and should reach a true verdict.

The government said jail em B4 they appeared in court.

Hey press studs the riots stopped.

How about a similar policy for knifecrime !!

So we potentially may get relegated to the Vanarama because of £13m worth of revenue? What a load of shite, ay.
The Premier league dont have the power to relegate us to the Vanarama league, they basically have two options.
1. To give us a points reduction sufficient to ensure relegation to the Championship.
2. To expel us from the PL completely in which case we would have to reapply to the Football League who would then decide on where we re enter.

If they were to go with the 2nd option it would blow apart football in England, they would never dare go down this route. Even the first option would see a shitstorm the likes of which they have never seen before and there would be a huge level of fall out across Football.

Only 6 years to take it up to United’s £40m+£35m ‘special’ single year allowances…
There’s ‘sportswashing’ then there’s united corruption at 500+% that level.
I question why Chelsea had to sell themselves a hotel to get past PSR, it "seems" the Rags were given these allowances due to not being able to undertake a tour and meet obligations through Covid, surely Chelsea would have had the same argument, and they were also forced into a change of ownership by the Government rather than through the choice of the club. As such I would have thought they would be more entitled than the Rags to any "special allowance"

And the PLs case, based on the Der Spiegel emails and not much else that is in the public domain, is that they were all lying
This is a key element for me, given the scale of the accusations being made against the club, if we were found guilty of the most serious charges then potentially people are going to jail.

Problem I see is the Premier leagues board brought the charges although there have been changes since 2021, they seem relatively independent to start with :gulp:

Alison Brittain CBE – Chair
Mai Fyfield – Independent Non-Executive Director
Dharmash Mistry – Independent Non-Executive Director
Matthew Ryder KC – Independent Non-Executive Director
Richard Masters – Chief Executive and Director

Statement of Corporate Governance Arrangements

The Board is committed to excellent governance standards, which are central to the effective running of the Premier League and the following information outlines its governance principles.

Since the League undertook a full governance review (completed in 2021) it has adopted the Wates Corporate Governance Principles for Large Private Companies (the "Wates Principles"). The Wates Principles are voluntary and provide a framework for the Board to monitor corporate governance of the League and determine where governance standards can be raised to a higher level across the business.

The Wates Principles support better engagement with stakeholders and helps to build trust with clubs, colleagues, partners and supporters. This governance framework also provides the right environment for the Board to continue to make high quality and resilient decisions for the long-term success of the Premier League. Since their adoption, regular updates tracking the League’s progress against the Wates Principles have been provided to the Board.

United’s ceo would be implicated in it if jail time is happening. Would they not be doing due diligence on hiring for a key position?

To be fair to the Rags they have an excellent record of keeping their employees out of jail, plenty of experience at it allegedly.

Yeah it's not true anymore but it was for a very long time when they first started up, all of their losses were absorbed by the state, others would have gone bankrupt.
British Airways was run at a loss for a good few years and the losses absorbed by the State. I think it was the same with Air Italia and a few others also.
