PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

You did well mate. Really good. Bet there was a million things you wanted to say that you forgot afterward but you did well in what I imagine was a very small time slot

Oh absolutely. The amount of times I went to say something (I wanted to talk about Chelsea's spending, the white paper and government regulation timing etc) but was cut off mid point and then the conversation went somewhere else. It's so hard to keep on track, but ah well.

Did I also hear that right on the overlap? The bellend arsenal fan linking this to match fixing and financial doping to the fact we took Adebayor, nasri and toure off them? Fuck me the way a couple of those turned out and the money we paid at the time they should be thanking us!
Hurting that those players found more success playing for us than them (barring Adebayor). Deluded bunch really

@twosips did a cracking job on that show. Neville occasionally speaks sense (evidently self-motivated, in part) but Carragher is such a gurning arse.

Thanks! Sorta felt like I actually got Neville to defend City when I called him and Carragher out on not liking City, so Neville felt an urge to appear impartial for once ha.

Do people honestly believe that sustained drug taking that gives someone a physical advantage in a match or paying off a referee or opposition player are equivalent to spending money just because Wenger called it doping once? It's so painfully obvious a different moral and legal category that I don't really know what to do with that.

I read Martin Samuel's article todan and obviously I agree with it. Martin has been a consistent critic of FFP and it is good to have such a constant and articulate voice, but it must be stressed that the case against City is not based on any failure to comply with FFP and some on here don't seem to realise this and are still talking about smashing the cartel and bringing down FFP. These are laudable aims but are of little relevance to our present difficulties. They will only become relevant when we win our case, the PL has to be replaced and an independent regulator appointed. That regulator must be GENUINELY independent so that the days of the redtop conspiracy are over. Some form of financial regulation and probably cost control are necessary but NOT one which entrenches the same clubs at the top as FFP tries to do. Attention has to be paid to the whole question of owner investment, and I believe it must be allowed and encouraged but not just to allow super rich owners "to buy the pot". I don't know how to do this but what we want is integrity and genuine concern for football from the regulator.

Mate, this is exactly what they want to do to us. Make it stop being fun. Make us stop wanting to go.
Don’t fucking let them win.
Get in there on Saturday and sing your heart out.
We fight till the end and need to let the world know that!
May be a tad quiet Saturday mate ;)
But you are spot on otherwise. Even I am going....
Can someone send me a map please.

Carragher simply hasn't read the details. I'm not sure he's read the Der Spiegel report. I'm not convinced, deep down, he understand the accusations. I don't think he read and/or understood the CAS report, or what the time barred really meant.

Obviously - obviously - City have taken advantage of their links with commercial partners attached to the club. Like United, like Leicester, like Bayern, like Stoke, like Juventus like [insert a dozen other football clubs] But obviously those links are mutually beneficial for those sponsors. But City are the most successful club in England over the last decade, are on TV more regularly than anyone, and have exploited emerging commercial markets in creative ways as you would expect directors who are at the cutting edge of European football. He still seems to think that Real Madrid should be top of the table because they sell more shirts and have more Facebook followers. Well, if Spurs made £442.8m, having not won a trophy in a decade while in the UEFA conference league, why shouldn't City have made £619.1m winning the league and getting to the semi finals of the CL? That sounds about right to me.
Carragher can't read

Call me surprised :)
