PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Goldbridge keeps pushing the Qataris, apparently they can open their chequebook, completely wipe out all the rag debts, build a brand new stadium and spend a billion on player's in their first season. Bloke is totally off his rocker.
And not fall foul of ffp

F..king idiot. It has taken us 12 years to get to the position we are at now with the money that has been put into the club and he thinks that the raggies can turn around the Titanic overnight. Now that IS funny.

If they take over at the scum United will still be able to spend, because they make so much every season, just not with the owners money, that's against FFP. What they can do is spend on the stadium and the training ground. Media always go on about rich owners spending on players do they not know anything about FFP.

Yes. Spending on stadium and facilities frees up money to be available for player costs and has an important effect on both performance and match day income.

Goldbridge is a "content creator". His entire job is to just push an agenda for United fans to fantasise over. Nothing he says holds up to a moment of scrutiny and it isn't intended to.

The guy literally has compilations of himself on his YouTube channel raging over FIFA games. Nothing he says means anything to me.

Yeah.
I've always wondered about that. put simplistically , if someone says you did something and takes you to some sort of court, be it civil or criminal, and you are found innocent, then surely to protect your reputation (or brand in the case of a business) you can countersue them for attempting to tarnish your reputation. AND in the eyes of many your brand IS then forever tarnished, even if found innocent.
I've often wondered why City don't go down this road ??
In theory we could sue but I think it is quite probable that as a condition of being in the PL we have to sign some sort of agreement that prevents us suing the league itself. It is probably part of the licensing agreement. However we would be free to sue any media outlet and in these circumstances the burden of proof lies with the publlisher ie whoever published (or broadcast) the allegations would have to prove they were true. This would be impossible because so many allegations against City are clearly false.

I can see clubs signing something like that if the organisation doesn't try to screw a club over with malicious rumours and processes.

They took the gloves off surely?

Perhaps but I am not sure how it would work in practice. If we sued the PL the case could last years and perhaps the PL (and the other clubs) could exclude us from the competition itself. Not sure how it works.

If they try to end us we imho should burn it all down.

Something iv been thinking about (with regards to not having a route to the law courts)... is Why haven't the Premier league just thrown the book at us and kicked us out OK the PL? Its their rules, they can do what they want, so what's stopping them, and what will stop them in future at our hearing?

As a member of any club or association if they decide to take action against you for a perceived breaking of a set of rules they still have to follow the rules of natural justice i.e act fairly and without bias and self interest , have a proper investigation and apply a reasonable and appropriate sanction and assume things like the equality act hold true for all organisations' whatever the legal status so they could not get away with targeting owners because of where they are from - IN THEORY.

Complete lack of compelling evidence. If they had enough, they’d have done us by now. Murray Rosen probably has not got enough to take the charges forward and it appears City are not providing any more if we are pushing back on the applicable rules around disclosure. I’m guessing/hoping the PL have nowhere to go on this - they’re stuck. At some point they’ve going to have to get off the fence.

Probably because the arseholes know that kicking us out of the PL would be the beginning of the end of the PL. Super league here we come in that case... They would throw the baby out with the bath water so to speak and probably destroy their money tree.

But it always frustrates me why we haven't gone after any of the media in court for their lies. That would go a long way to stopping the anti-City tirades by certain scrotes who hate us and have an agenda.
