PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

This is the start of the end game and the process where the whole thing will have disappeared by the end of the season. And we continue as normal in the PL and Champions League.

Liverpool's lawyers know only too well the legal position. Other clubs' lawyers know only too well the legal position. They will share and agree with the same view as our very own legal expert,Stefan ie. the bar is very high if not impossible for the IC to prove the charges.

The clamour about the charges will intensify this weekend and other clubs will follow Liverpool's lead. The media will support them and the pressure for resolution will be intense. There is no way the media will let this go on to the end of the season. It's tarnishing the PL etc, TV rights negotions will be impacted, uncertainty for clubs about CL places etc etc. But,as I said the other day and as surprising as it might sound,Liverpool are on our side with this .

The Premier League will somehow get round whatever the legal implications might be and instruct the IC to stop everything. The culmination will be the vote of the PL members supporting the withdrawal of all charges and Manchester City will be in the clear.

There will be a major PR exercise supporting the clubs position, retaining as much credibility as possible and also most importantly protecting our reputation. Heads will inevitably roll at the Premier League Fuck knows what will happen to Chelsea but they've admitted guilt.
I’ll have some of what your smoking pal!

Sounds like Donald Trump.

Forgets his shitstain club and the other mardarses down the road wants us done and that they voted on their own who they wanted as the next chairman of the Premier League.
We want names? Who the fuck does this scruffy **** think he is?

And you know this how?

He was already on a contract over there and City were not paying it. Ergo, he was being paid by someone else AND getting his wages at City.

“People” say this was an FFP dodge to funnel more money into his pockets, and the EFFECT may well have been that, but LEGALLY and EFFECT are two wholly separate and distinct things…even if one grants the premise that Mancini was getting the money BECAUSE he was at City!

Far too many people talking bollocks in the deep end of the pool without their water wings on.

To date, it’s all legalistic conjecture. We’ll see where it falls once all the appeals are completed and if City have to take some medicine in the final analysis, then that’s what they’ll have to do.

BUT, let’s make no mistake, FFP has NOTHING to do with sustainability and EVERYTHING to do with protection of certain clubs.

If anyone thinks Everton’s £19M violation is a big thing, they should look at the debts some clubs carry and who is responsible for paying it off!!

That £19M MIGHT lead to Administration if the 777 investment doesn’t happen. Thst creates a 19 point deduction, relegation, puts the new stadium at even greater risk and only serves to ruin one of the most historic clubs in English football! FOR WHAT???

Meanwhile, across town, Liverpool write off £MILLIONS on a pipe dream of a new stadium that was a scribble on a piece of paper! Them being allowed to write thst off barely squeezed them across the FFP goal line, so nothing to see there, right?!

Or MUFC, who for years have been carrying hundreds of millions in debt that only needs the interest payment to be made to be in compliance, which a debt-free MCFC is under constant threat of being made a pariah of European football???

It’s nonsensical and FFP is a complete misnomer!

Think he was intimating it was a bit dodgy.

Edit it was dodgy. The player signed a pre-contract agreement with Wolves, Arsenal then paid his old club 2.5m, and he signed for Arsenal. Wolves almost took legal action.
Who was the player ? And surely if he signed a pre contract with wolves they would have got a pay out

Even with all emotional bias removed I just can’t see removal of titles, the repercussions would go exponential and the worldwide appeal of the EPL would drop through the floor.
It’s not just titles it’s relegation and placing prize money clubs would argue regarding points win and lost against us
The effects this had on the above #toocomplex

Hope peps on form for his Friday presser. He’ll have to be! He normally shows up the clueless bastards every time though
Yeah, are we taking bets who asks the first question about the Everton case, I'm going Wanker Stone or Ladyman, he likes to think he's getting an exclusive.

Investing too much money in a club can't be compared with the match-fixing scandals which led to trophies being taken off clubs in Italy. It would be ridiculous.

I haven’t reviewed all 115 charges no and before you jump all over that I would bet my house 90% of people posting in here haven’t either.

From what I have read I think we did employ Mancini after he was sacked in an advisory role. How much of the role was to counter FFP or was really a job in itself only Mancini and city know. My hunch is it’s what’s called “creative accounting”. Does that mean the charge will stick? Who knows but I equally don’t think that charge is so unfair gross miscarriage of justice.

Anyway apologies if I’ve come across arrogant I just find a lot of posters in this thread only want to deal in theatrics.

This is a quote from the Everton judgment:

"Under cross examination, the evidence of Everton’s representative was that, in the same way that a tax accountant’s job was to reduce a client’s tax exposure, an element of his job was to protect or interpret PSR rules to the benefit of my employer."

The commission stated that it considered that Everton did not consciously intend to circumvent the PL rules, and the PL made it clear that it did not allege dishonesty against Everton.

I think you should leave it to the experts to decide on whether or not City acted within the rules in respect of the Mancini contract.

Time to join the super league, i was 100 percent against it at first but if I'd of known what I know now I'd of been 100 percent for it time too stick 2 fingers up at the Prem!
Mark my words, there is no chance in hell City will play a single game in the Championship or any other lower league. If the PL were actually able to expel or relegate City they will be joining a super league in the blink of an eye...
