PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I don't know enough about the Everton case to be honest, I've only started to pick through bits just to see whether their ruling was harsh or fair. I'm sure there will be podcasts out there I can get the lowdown on. Considering Usmanov was behind the stadium rights deal I'm sure he would have happily paid a large chunk upfront - enough to cover Everton's losses and some transfers! From high level reading that seems to be the case - they feel Chelsea were assisted when Abramovich was sanctioned but that they got no grace for the stadium rights which fell through due to Usmanov's sanctions.

And that's my point. You'll have a lot of Everton fans feeling hard done by, believing the PL are corrupt whilst completely ignoring/being unaware of the fact the PL were supporting them and that the deal with Usmanov is the sort of deal they'd feel was dodgy as hell if it had been done by City.

Even now the redshirts can't believe our revenue is genuine. How on earth could a treble winning side, the dominant force in English football over the past few years, make more money than the red shirts?!
They know it's genuine alright, the smart ones anyway, the rest don't want to believe it.

This scouse **** can fuck right off.

Not heard a fucking peep out of him re City.

The complete and utter shithouse.
And before people say he can't yet as the case is ongoing.
He could have done in the intervening years from being cleared by Cas and being charged by the clique and their cohorts.
He and his club were one of the cohorts, you reap what you sow.
Turkey's voting for Christmas comes to mind,we'll your feathers have been burnt by your master's.

On balance I think we need Burnham in our corner and he does seem to have the PL on the run re this sanctions policy. Far from using Everton to demonstrate that an Independent Regulator wasn’t required the PL have once again made an overwhelming case for its introduction! Master’s does not look a smart operator.
No surprise really, since he was chosen by the Glazers.

Every fucker else has mentioned us in anything to do with Everton but not dipper Andy, for once in his life he's on a dignified silence.

I voted Pablo Zab rather than for that twat (had dealings via work with him and being a dipper isn't his worst trait), when he was up for election, I'm nolonger in his voting area now thank fuck.
Has any politician actually gone on the record and talked about it?

That’s where the comparison should be and I can’t think of any, because there’s nothing to comment on.

The 5 basic charges relate to:

1) Alleged inaccurate financial information.
2) Alleged financial breaches relating to manager remuneration.
3) Alleged breaches of UEFA club licensing & FFP regulations.
4) Alleged breaches of PL profitability and sustainability rules.
5) Alleged lack of co-operation.
All alleged then. Not a single gotcha amongst them, just opinions. Simon Jordan could come up with this tripe, and does, but unless there is a right and proper paper trail then it counts for nothing.

UAE approached to invest in Sizewell C nuclear power plant

A United Arab Emirates investor has been approached to take a stake in the Sizewell C nuclear power plant project in Suffolk, it has emerged.

Ministers are searching for new investors in the project, which could cost between £20bn and £44bn, after removing the Chinese state-owned CGN last year due to security concerns over UK infrastructure amid poor Anglo-Sino relations.

The Times reported on Monday that the UK government had lined up Mubadala, the Abu Dhabi fund run by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the owner of Manchester City football club, to back the energy project, with a decision due early next year.

However, a source close to Mubadala denied the fund was interested in Sizewell but said other UAE entities were interested. A separate source said that Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation, which is owned by Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund ADQ, could be a good fit for the project.

The UAE interest comes against the backdrop of Westminster tensions over a separate Emirati deal. Last week, RedBird IMI – a joint-venture between America’s Redbird Capital and International Media Investments, an Abu Dhabi investor also backed by Mansour – announced a deal to take control of the Telegraph group. The government has indicated it will launch a public interest investigation into the newspaper deal.

The Sizewell C plant aims to generate enough energy to power 6m homes. It is backed by France’s EDF and the UK government, which has spent nearly £100m buying CGN out of the project. CGN had held a 20% stake.

Rishi Sunak hosted Mubadala’s Khaldoon Al Mubarak at a meeting of global business leaders at Hampton Court, south-west London, on Monday as he attempts to attract foreign investment to the UK.

By the way Khaldoon is also chairman of the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation.
