I don't know enough about the Everton case to be honest, I've only started to pick through bits just to see whether their ruling was harsh or fair. I'm sure there will be podcasts out there I can get the lowdown on. Considering Usmanov was behind the stadium rights deal I'm sure he would have happily paid a large chunk upfront - enough to cover Everton's losses and some transfers! From high level reading that seems to be the case - they feel Chelsea were assisted when Abramovich was sanctioned but that they got no grace for the stadium rights which fell through due to Usmanov's sanctions.
And that's my point. You'll have a lot of Everton fans feeling hard done by, believing the PL are corrupt whilst completely ignoring/being unaware of the fact the PL were supporting them and that the deal with Usmanov is the sort of deal they'd feel was dodgy as hell if it had been done by City.
Even now the redshirts can't believe our revenue is genuine. How on earth could a treble winning side, the dominant force in English football over the past few years, make more money than the red shirts?!
