As a proper socialist young fella (Thatcher was voted as Prime Minister on my 20th birthday) I was proper left wing, attended Rock against Racism rallies, Anti Nazi Lesgue against the National Front, wore the badges, loved the punk scene. However to complete the “lefty” persona reading the “Ragged Trousered Philanthropist” was essential.Actually, it sounds like something scousers might do to our team bus - fill an' throw pissed.
I work in Trafford Park about 10 minutes walk from The Swamp and between the stadium and where I am there is - somewhat worryingly - a fair bit of unused land. There's also a huge chunk of land owned by them right opposite our works that is currently used for match-day parking. I think they could conceivably slap a new stadium on there and while that's being built they could keep playing at The Swamp. I suppose it all depends on how much they're prepared to spend but that would seem to be the most realistic and least disruptive option.
Cheers, I ended up sending it off last night. I enjoyed writing it too, either way someone has to read it and respond to me from the BBC.I specifically logged in tonight instead of lurking to 'like' this, absolutely superb, can't wait to watch the Documentary in the near future, if and I mean a big if Panorama have got the balls to do it...

It's that loss of parking that I struggle to see them dealing with, if they use the same site to build a new stadium whilst remaining at the scaffold. They are already lazy buggers who park everywhere around the stadium (peel Moat,is it?) causing chaos, before heading towards the M60/M56/M6 to get back to London.I work in Trafford Park about 10 minutes walk from The Swamp and between the stadium and where I am there is - somewhat worryingly - a fair bit of unused land. Barca fans copying City’s……..oops.Let's hope they follow the shining example of Barcelona.
They've moved out of their 99,000 capacity stadium to build a new bigger one.
The temporary stadium has a capacity about half that, and they've only sold out one game this season. Against Atletico Madrid they had less than 35,000 fans - 15k empty seats!
Or share their new stadium. Everton will be desperate for any extra revenuethey could use Goodison after Everton move to their new stadium. sure the scousers would welcome that.
