PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

This always makes me laugh. Imagine a world where the average Joe has a stash of evidence to back up every opinion he holds. I recall standing in some very full stadiums in my time and the crowd declared is about 70% of capacity. I assume like most opinions, it’s based on different experiences over time that leads to a formed opinion. He didn’t realise that you needed him to be a Private Investigator to justify the opinion.

Opinions are the stocking trade of a forum.
I know it's probably autocorrect's fault but, even so, I am sorely tempted to get that last line put on a tee-shirt.

Prof Jessica Simor (LSE) discussed it on twitter - saying that Pannick thought it would be illegal. Can't remember the details of her points but she thought he was probably wrong. You could pick up the twitter thread.
Panick seems to think there could be a human rights infringe pity there are no human rights specialists in the government.

I knew United was ongoing, didn’t know Newcastle may be in trouble too.
I don’t think they are in trouble per se. They are arguing with HMRC’s view that image rights derive from their employee status and should, therefore, be treated as wages.
They will lose in the end and pay what is owed plus maybe a penalty for delay.
City discussed it with HMRC and revamped their accounts, paying the extra tax due, without penalty.
But for some strange reason, we get charged by the PL but nobody else does! Hmmmm….must be the blue shirt.

TBF, the PL can't/won't do anything until the cases are resolved with HMRC. Probably won't...
