PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I think highly likely that Khaldoon said no major signings til this is done. A view taken that the squad was still good enough to be there or thereabouts and targets for this year lower than previously.

No allowance taken for the injuries and drop off.

Not a criticism, just a theory.
They decided to build and fund a £300-400m stand and complex but decided not to buy any players? And bid £100m for Rice (for example) for a laugh whilst telling Pep there was nothing to worry about?

The adult thing to do would be, in the face of all the things we do know from people who do know more than you, would be to agree this information is shit and quietly disappear from the thread. Or even maybe take the opportunity to learn a few things, so you're better prepared to counter stuff like this if you hear it again.

A very similar story was posted on here a couple of weeks ago and was shown to be extremely dubious at best, and why it was extremely dubious. For one thing the panel has only just finished hearing the evidence and there's unlikely to be an outcome much before Easter. For another, only then will they discuss any sanction. That's why people are angry with you, together with your arrogant attitude when shown to be wrong.

And people who know more than you and who do understand what little we know about the charges have said that's the likelihood of the PL proving their case to the degree required is seemingly very low. Basically that these charges are nonsense and are unlikely to be proven to a level that would lead to a 40-point deduction or £40m fine.
To be fair Colin you could have just said to him "fuck off". ;)

We are spending money on the new stand and a new hotel. I don't think for one minute the club have said we wont spend money on new players. We've just been hit by a wave of injuries, knackered players mentally and physically after 4 years of winning everything, bought poorly and have been loyal one year too long. Probably hoping to see Txikki out of the door and the new guy get his feet under the table before spending big again.

I don't belive the charges bother the players, they'll have been briefed and they're all sat on big fat contracts and no doubt could leave if anything seriously happened.

I don't think anything like relegation will happen. I've never been concerned for one second about it and have hardly bothered with reading anything in depth about it. I'll still support City whatever division we play in. Fuck everyone outside of City and they're agenda. It's a load of bollocks dragged up by a small number of teams. I believe the damage has already been done no matter what the outcome as nobody will believe we are innocent and the likes of Grealish will carry on being boo'd. I get sick of being asked or told about it from people that have never set foot inside a football ground in their life ffs. So Fuck em all and carry on City!

Liverpool didn’t have to put up with internet trolls as the official birthday of the internet was 1st January 1983 and Heysel was May 1984. Fun fact.

At least if we’ve done anything wrong it’ll just be us getting punished and not everyone else. Oh, and nobody died.

Dor eh mate, dat’s not fair soft laaa!
Heysel was actually May 1985.

The chargeses were there last season,we didn't do to bad.
The dominance has been stopped by loss of form and injuries.
The charges weren't being heard and litigated over last season. The hearing was ongoing these last few months and has just concluded; and you can guarantee the club and our legal team will intuitively know how it went. It's the same as sitting an exam, you will know deep down if you've failed; but won't be put out of your misery until you get the results.

However significantly, there's no way this hasn't affected morale within the camp.

Regardless of outcome the charges have done exactly what they were intended to do. Stop our dominance.
Even if we get relegated, we will come back. It might take a few seasons to reach the top again. Juventus in 2006 is a good example—after they returned to Serie A and built a new top team, they went on to win the Scudetto 11 times in a row. In the long run, the worst thing that could happen to our rivals is if we go down.

Funnily enough, we’re now in a similar situation to the season before Pep arrived. We have a squad with an average age that’s way too high, and due to the legal process and constantly shifting regulations, we’ve struggled to recruit. It’s 2015/16 all over again, except this time we don’t have a KDB, Aguero, or Fernandinho to save us.

He doesn't give any money to Soriano. Soriano runs the club, he spends the money that the club generates which is where transfers come from. He's the Chairman of the Board, he doesn't do anything on a day to day level and certainly won't be overruling the executive staff on whether they're allowed to spend the club's money.

Of course he can. He is there to represent the majority shareholder. If Soriano wants to spend 200 million and Mansour says not this year, Khaldoon tells Soriano to fuck off (politely).
