PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I would love to have the unwavering confidence many have in this forum about the outcome of these charges, but this latest “update” just brings out the pessimist in me.

I mentioned before that both sides were already claiming confidence in the case outcome and the quote in this article that both parties will claim victory no matter what is said gives me the impression that we are going to receive some sort of punishment and will not be fully exonerated.

Now the club have claimed that there is irrefutable evidence, if we do receive a punishment are we to then believe that the evidence was not irrefutable?

I also have one question, say we win on all counts but lose on non cooperation. How can the PL claim that as a victory as I, possibly naively, have assumed that maybe we withheld information originally but ultimately as part of the case everything relevant will have been handed over. So surely that means the PL can’t then claim “well city didn’t cooperate so we couldn’t get the proof!” Because it was all handed over in the end.

I don’t know I am just a pessimistic layman trying to work out what the fuck is going on!!
This latest information from Sky means nothing in terms of the outcome. One thing is certain though. Sky TV does not know the result of the case.

The irony being, the Daily United is running with the story. Let’s just say they have always been economical with the facts and with the truth surrounding the 115 case and their reporting of it.

The Daily United.(edited)

Officials at Sky have also shared a factfile on the long-running case which has seen the competition effectively at war with its champions.

They have warned that both sides may claim victory regardless of the outcome and have reminded the likes of Gary Neville, SPITTY and Roy Keane that any verdict and potential punishment could be subject to an appeal.

The email asks recipients to allow themselves 'sufficient time to digest the outcome' and to direct viewers to Sky Sports News for further information and reaction.

Mail Sport understands that the move is aimed at ensuring that the broadcaster is accurate, fair and balanced in its reporting and avoids any controversy in what is an incredibly sensitive matter.

*City have definitely told Sly Sports News to report the verdict fairly, and to be impartial in their reporting of it.

Same happened in the Apt case the premier league claimed they had won few months later we heard it was city.Same will happen here they will claim its going to appeal ect but when the dust settles we will be wanting that resignation letter of masters!
All the major news outlets said we had won though, and that's definitely the enduring narrative.

No one outside this forum seems to understand the charges, not just Sky's pundits.
I don't entirely comprehend it; I'm no legal expert by any means, but I do my best to follow what others on this forum who are more knowledgeable than me are saying. Having said that, I'm confident that I understand the charges better than probably 95% of the people I've seen discussing them on TV or in the media.

Very concerning that their pundits have to be explicitly told to be accurate, fair and balanced …

I’m not so sure. Masters and his pals have wasted £20m plus of clubs’ money on a vindictive witch-hunt driven by a small corrupt clique. The PL leadership team can’t survive a defeat.
They will though , if they’re 20% right in their books with “non cooperation” then they will see it as a justified worthwhile exercise, due diligence and all that shite. Nothing but full 100% will get everyone off the clubs backs.

Don't forget that 50% of the time these red wanker pundits have a director in their earpiece telling them what to say.
The other 50% of the time it's their own jealous and vindictive nature of being associated with their red shithouse clubs they played for that oozes out of their every pore.
Merson has a voice in his earpiece telling him to "breathe in, breathe out, breathe in, breathe out."

I think this is just Sky getting their own house in order. They have so many different people on their shows who think they are untouchable. Sky are probably concerned that if one of their gobby lot report on the outcome incorrectly (especially if City are found innocent of the most serious charges), City will go in for the kill.

If we are found guilty of the main charges, you better believe they will destroy us but then, being on the receiving end of name-calling on Sky will be the least of our problems.

Albeit a nobody it’ll stop that utter wanker Sherwood from spouting again anytime soon

I am pretty sure Masters is toast. He will be the sacrificial lamb. The Government will want his head in return for ditching the regulator for starters.

He won’t resign , he will just move sideways , he’s already of recent become a director of Premier League Studios back end of November last year , his exit , if need be is already advanced , nothing unusual in being a director of multiple companies by the way , but not a cat in hells chance he will resign - why would he ? It’s the tyrany of the minority isn’t it ?

Of course, but I imagine there’s a reasonable chance we could have a problem with some of the non co-operation charges. Other stuff (like Mancini, Fordham) could still end up being time-barred, which our detractors will take as a sign of guilt even if it’s no such thing. The important thing is that we win on the most substantive charges. As we’ve seen with the APT case though, both sides will probably claim some kind of victory regardless.
This isn't like the APT case it will be clear who's won, if city get a fine then it's pretty obvious we won. You don't bring 130 charges to fine a club. I agree we will be done for no co-operation and that that will be worth the piss boiling.

City fans on here be like the guy in yellow tonight

can't believe I've not been looking for the last 30 odd minutes and had to catch up about 10 pages FFS

I think Masters will be forced out by the Pl Board under pressure from his former pals at Fenway Group, Spurs, Arsenal and MUFC.

If the premier league come out saying they’ve won like they did with the APT they’ll be expected to sanction us heavily if they over exaggerate their victory they won’t be able to sanction us heavily that’s how they’ll be found out to be lying quick enough to other supporters

Yep absolutely spot on.
