PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I’m off to Tenerife in the morning so hopefully I will be sat with a cold drink in hand, outside a bar when the good news drops and be surrounded by Irish, cockneys, in-bred six fingered west/east country wankers and watch as they implode. I shall then leave the rag bar and go in search of a Scandinavian/Welsh/ Mentally deranged dickheads bar to see the impact in there too, that’s the dippers covered then.

Can’t be arsed with the rest of the football (Addams) family.

Mind you as this whole farce has been going on since ‘Adam were a lad’ a week away won’t make a difference in the wait.
lol, you’re not making those Tenerife bars sound very appetising, it has to be said ;-)
Have a great time though!

Is this verdict going to make any difference to anyone's life, on here?
I follow this thread for entertainment value and pipe up here n there.
But, whether get get found innocent or guilty is going to make absolutely no difference to my life, one little bit. I will still follow City, no matter what.
I will be more disappointed if we get beat on Sunday than I will if we lose this case.
Ffs you do realise what's at stake?

Yes, in an existential way it doesn't matter. But as a City fan, it does. A lot.

Yes. Absolutely.

1 billion percentage yes.

If found guilty, the entire board will be disqualified as directors. They would correct assume that our trophies were illiegitmate because we cheated. Everything we've built for almost 20 years would be erased, and the Abu Dhabi based board would be complicit.

Again, I've said this before. I think we'll be found not guilty. but a guilty verdict isn't some nonsense and in business terms is the most serious accusation possible. There's no coming back from this. It's a criminal matter.
I have got absolutely no idea whether we did it or not.
The owner and chairman have done everything they said they were going to do and I have absolutely no reason to doubt them. Especially when they say that we have done nothing wrong and have irrefutable evidence. That's a definitive statement.
If we are guilty, it's a case of, do the crime, do the time.
Guilty or not, it will make absolutely no difference to my life. They can take the trophies, but they can't take my memories. I don't care whether we are playing Arsenal or Aldershot.

100% agree with this. I find the narrative amongst sections of the fanbase that it doesn't really matter crazy. It absolutely invalidates the last 17ish years. Sure, they can never take the memories away but those memories are undeniably tarnished. Plus, whilst I don't really care what opposition fans think, we can never have the conversation about Pep's City being the greatest team in English history as it will be immediately batted away by anyone with those 3 digits. It would be absolutely disastrous for the club and personally, I don't think I could continue supporting the club whilst the board who hypothetically committed the deceit were still involved.

I agree on the basis the rules were a sham to start with and deliberately set up to target us.

If it was something else, let's say City had been paying refs or something like that I'd be more bothered.

Win or lose I'm 100% behind the club and these fantastic owners.

If anything this entire process has just confirmed that football in this country has been rigged in favour of the 'red cartel' for decades. I cannot be angry with our club trying to break the stranglehold.

I’d like to believe that was true.

It won’t change my behaviour in the sense that I’ll still follow the club everywhere no matter what.

But if we lose it would cast a shadow over all of the club, player and manager achievements of the last 15 years.

It will set City back years if we lose.

The club will take a huge hit off the pitch, financially and that will mean that the rebuild we require will be a lot more difficult.

I would expect Pep and a number of players to walk or have to be sold.

There will be months or even years of more legal wrangles and fans of other clubs not only calling us cheats but demanding that we’re put out of existence. No matter what the punishment eventually is, a huge swathe of the red public will say it’s not enough.

There will be positives. The club might realise the benefit of the dedicated support of the loyal fans that will see us through the dark times. When City fans have their backs against the wall we usually come out fighting.

Although how we’ve gorged on success recently that fight might have gone. You can see the apathy on the terraces in this season alone - not only with the quality of the football on the pitch but the decisions to chase the filthy lucre in the boardroom.

If we win, the club are vindicated, we will earn a lot of money off the back of it, we’ll spend a lot of money because of it. We’ll have the moral high ground.

This verdict will be momentous and it’s a zero sum game.

Me too, nobody can ever take those moments away from me as a live fan. But they claim we cheated and had an unfair advantage to achieve them which would slightly bother me. Maybe 10% when talking to scousers.

Winning this case is more important that winning the FA cup or getting top 4.

Make no difference? Really? Won’t stop supporting City but it will make a huge difference, not least to our wonderful history, andin the present we’d probably lose loads of players. Plus all the horrible cunts will be able to say they were right. The converse would all be true if we win

Same. I'm a lifer. I'm here in "Division Two" and the Champions League. I'm not interested, I just want to go to matches. If they relegate us to non-league or some shit then I can't wait to pay £10 a ticket. My support is not predicated on the corporate revenue of Manchester City.
