Only this!! There should be no reason at all for it not being fully automated with today's technology, its a line FFS, but like you say they will easily find a way to make a balls of it, because that's what they are good at

To be honest it sounds like you're just complaining for the sake of it and have no idea how the sytem works.

If there was a way to reliably automate detecting the exact moment a player connects with a football, they'd have incorporated it.
