Plain or Patterned ?

I stand corrected @Mad Eyed Screamer , thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Neither patterned nor colored tea towels are inherently dangerous. The safety of a tea towel depends on its material, construction, and intended use.

However, it is important to note that any tea towel can become a safety hazard if it is not used properly or maintained adequately. For example, if a tea towel is used to handle hot pots and pans, it can become a burn hazard if it is not thick enough or if it is used improperly. Additionally, if a tea towel is not washed regularly, it can harbor bacteria and become a health hazard.

In general, it is recommended to choose tea towels that are made from high-quality, durable materials and that are designed for the intended use. It is also important to follow proper care and maintenance guidelines to ensure that the tea towels remain safe and effective over time.
I see the potential for a youtube channel where you guide each viewer through an important task or activity with a meticulous risk assessment to ensure total safety.

Great thread this, and not spoiling the forum at all. And not even slightly dangerous.
Not sure about that. What if you like plain and she prefers patterned? Fights could break out at any mo.
We solved this by not having tea towels: dishwasher plus air drying for any hand washed items.
Incidently, a second sink for air drying is far superior to a draining board, items are less vulnerable and don’t get in the way.
A second sink is also useful for bathing babies and other small mammals.

So, given this thread and my post yesterday, I thought it only right to carry out a full TTA (Tea Towel Audit) whilst England were playing last night. Now given that I am so well endowed the dining room table had to be cleared to lay each tea towel out to determine 1) plain or patterned 2) type of pattern 3) tea stained or not.
After an extremely illuminating hour I can report that the results were nothing short of astonishing.
We have a total of 48 tea towels with only two being plain (one of them is a particular favourite as I got it as a gift from the kind folk at Great British Chefs). 46 tea towels had some kind of 'pattern' albeit that on careful inspection one was particularly badly stained in a shape that resembled cerberus. That one was very quickly reallocated to the 'plain' category. Of the remainder, 63% had a geometric design, 30% had simple bucolic scenes or animals (funnily enough owls was a particular favourite) and 7% bore emblems from our beloved football team. A total of 20 TT's were found to be 'stained' by some matter or other and were discarded which has significantly reduced my endowment.

Neatly folded they are now back in their drawer. An extremely illuminating and useful hour spent I think anybody would agree.

God I am soo fucking bored of international breaks.
